Just as much as their happily ever after has begun, enemies from the past come back with twice as much hatred and anger. They have come to destroy, displace and break a lot of hearts.

The story takes a one year leap into the lives of our favorites characters from Perfection Isn't Ours. This story is centered on Mason, Ciara, Nora, Jerome, Harry and Elizabeth living their lives just the way they always wanted with no troubles from their past lovers.

Mason typed frantically on his laptop in his airy office while glancing at the scattered documents on his desk. He paused to pull down his knotted tie and unbuttoned his white dress shirt then shut his eyes tight and opened them when Elizabeth raced into his office with another set of documents. "Sorry," she said, dumped them on the desk and flipped her brown hair off her shoulders. "God, why the hell did business just double over the week?" Mason frowned at her then returned to his work on the device without a word. He paused to take a huge gulp of water from his bottle then looked up at Elizabeth who was reading some of the documents. "Why hasn't Harry called to tell us that he's back from his trip in Miami with Nora?" Mason asked in a dark tone. Elizabeth shrugged and sat on the desk, took his bottle water and took a quick drink out of it. She exhaled and smiled at him. "Oh, come on. Let the guy be," she said. "He needs the break anyways. We've been stuck here in this building for a year now doing nothing but work and we haven't even had a break and you're bothered about Harry who just left yesterday?" Mason shut his laptop after saving his work then stood up. He stretched his arms and heard a soft popping sound. "Ooh, you're getting old," she said and jumped out of the way when he tossed an eraser in her direction. "Even your sight is bad now." "I thought you are here to help me not taunt me?" Mason questioned and picked up another eraser when she mimicked him silently. "Before I-" The door opened and Ciara walked in with a black baby stroller. The duo paused mid air while the dark haired woman gazed between the two. "Oh, thank goodness you're here, Ciara. Your stupid fiance is bullying me again," Elizabeth said and began to feign weeping sounds. Ciara scoffed. "Whenever you complain first, it just means that you started it. And please, you two. Could you stop? One day, this building will burn down." Elizabeth hissed. "You're always siding with him because he's your man." Mason rolled his eyes and sat on his desk after Elizabeth poked Ciara's shoulder then went down on her knees in front of the stroller where a sleeping baby lay. "Don't wake him up, please," Mason pleaded. Elizabeth rolled her eyes, adjusted her glasses, stood up and left the room for the couple. Ciara giggled and pushed the stroller towards the stressed out man. She got to him, wrapped her arms around his shoulders and kissed his cheek. "Work keeps doubling?" She asked rhetorically. Mason wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled between his legs. He placed his head in the crook of her neck and kissed it softly before shifting his gaze to their son who was starting to fuss in his stroller. He sighed, stood up and squatted in front of the stroller and as if on cue, the boy opened his blue eyes and grinned at the sight of his father. "Hey, Lex," he said and carried his dark haired son up into his strong arms. "We decided to visit you and brought you lunch since Elizabeth called and told me you've been in this office since 7am," Ciara stated and pulled out a lunch pack from the baby bag that hung from her shoulder. Mason hummed and kissed the soft cheeks of his gurgling son who had his tiny fingers splayed on his father's face. He laughed when Lex squealed and bent back aggressively but luckily held his back before he fell off his arms. "How come he's so playful when you hold him?" Ciara whined as she placed out his lunch on his desk for him. "Duh, I'm his daddy," Mason stated as a matter of fact. "Hey, Lex. You're daddy's boy, right?" Lex squealed more and puckered his small pink lips then kissed Mason near his nose and moved his opened little mouth to his father's nose and bit on it, making him hiss in slight pain. "Hey, Lex. Stop," Ciara said slowly which got the boy's attention. "Now come, let Daddy eat." She said and held her open arms towards Lex who gazed at her with his index and middle fingers in his mouth, sucking hard. "Come to Mommy." Mason stared at his son, taking in his pale baby face, his bottom nose, long dark lashes, little brows and blue eyes that flickered up and down Ciara's body. Lex shifted his gaze from his mother to him then pulled out his small fingers from his mouth and forced it into his own mouth, Mason chuckled and used his folded lips to munch on Lex's fingers. "Yes, daddy is hungry but not for your hand, Lex. Now come on," Ciara said and took the baby from Mason's arms. Mason walked closer to his fiancee, wrapped his arm around her shoulders and kissed her lips passionately. He pulled away to stare down into her green eyes then kissed her forehead. "I love you," she said and he smiled. "I love you too," he replied softly and went to one of the seats facing his desk then began to eat. "Have you eaten?" She nodded. "Yes, the moment Lex slept, I did." Ciara pushed aside the scattered documents on the desk and sat Lex down who immediately began to hop with an open mouthed smile. She wiggled her fingers at him and he clumsily copied before crawling to where Mason was eating. "Has Jerome called you?" Mason asked as he gave Lex a strand of spaghetti to eat. "He was suppose to be back from his business meeting in Japan few hours ago and we were supposed to go out tonight." "Yes, he did. He says he's at his office and what do you two always go out to do almost every night?" Ciara asked and took the seat beside him then rubbed the diamond coated ring with her other fingers. Mason shrugged. "We just meet up to talk guy stuff and- Hey, Lex. Don't touch that." Lex paused mid air when his tiny fingers almost touched a paper. He blinked and faced his father obediently then put his index and middle fingers in his mouth again. Ciara sighed. "He has got to stop that habit of yours. Thank God he didn't get that from me." "Say that again, babe," Mason said with a light glare aimed at the woman beside him. Ciara smirked and leaned forward with raised brows. She poked his thigh and grinned. "He got his finger sucking habit from you," Ciara stated and yelped when Mason grabbed the arm of her chair and pulled her closer to him. Mason smirked. "You're in for a lot of trouble tonight, young lady." Lex squealed.         ••• Harry took a long sip from his banana smoothie and smacked his lips after that. He licked his lips and glanced at Nora who was laying beside him, reading a magazine in nothing but a floral bikini and hair tied up into a ponytail. He dropped his glass cup and leaned over her body, making her breath hitch in shock. Harry chuckled. "Are you seriously into that magazine that you couldn't sense your boyfriend so close to you?" "Haha, Harry," she said and poked his head from over her shoulder. "You're heavy." "Oh, really? How come you complain now when you're used to my weight already in several other ways," he teased and tickled her sides, which caused her to roll away from under him. Nora giggled. "Stop it, Harry. I hate being tickled. Now wait here while I go get my phone from the car." Harry shrugged and watched as his red haired girlfriend marched away on the white sandy grounds of the beach crowded with people. He took his sunglasses and put them on.         ••• Nora hissed as she walked with her toes curled under her feet. She stopped walking, placed her hands on her hips and shook her head. "Why didn't I just wear my slippers?" She asked herself and continued walking until she got to the parking lot where other cars were. She sported theirs and jogged to it, pressed the button on the keys and pulled the driver's door opened. She unplugged the phone and sat in the hot car until her phone came on. After it did, it automatically rang with Elizabeth as its ID. She picked up the call. "Yup?" "What's up, my favorite couple?" Nora sighed, got out of the car and locked it then began to walk away from it. "We're are okay. What's up over there?" She asked while shaking the keys in her grasp. "Everything is going good, except for work which keeps doubling. Anyways, remember to buy those chocolates I told you about." Nora hit her forehead tenderly with her fisted hand and rolled her eyes. "Elizabeth?" "Hmm?" "Those chocolates costs a lot and you didn't give me any cash, remember?" Nora questioned and turned sharply which made her collide into someone who eventually fell on her fours. "I'll call you back." Nora stared down at the back of the brown wavy haired woman before squatting down to help the woman up only to be shoved away harshly. "Get away from me," the woman said and looked up at Nora, her blue eyes hard. "Don't you watch where you're going?" "Dude, relax. I didn't mean it and besides you weren't watching where you were going since you came in the other direction," Nora retorted and marched away, muttering under her breath while the young woman glared and walked away too.         ••• "Have they arrived?" The figure sitting on a couch in a dim room said and raised their gloved hand to one of their shoulder. "Good. Keep me updated." With that, the call ended and the owner tossed the phone onto the other end of the couch.
