1 baker, 1 director, 1 contract.

It was all that it took for these two to have their lives entwine with one another.

Cakes and papers messed it up for them, or was it really?

____

Due to high demands and qualities, Marc Greyson thought he needed to find this well-known social-media baker like looking for a needle in a haystack, yet luck was on his side when the baker's proposal was dumped on his table.

"I'm not signing with you," she scowls in annoyance when the event director shows up again as she's nearing her cafe.

"I haven't said anything yet sugarcube, and you're already rejecting me?" he chuckles as he fell into step with her, opening the door to her cafe for her to enter.

"This won't work on me," she simply smiles at the dark-haired male as she spins around and goes straight to the back, leaving him at the front door of her cafe.

"Oh it will, just wait for it Miss Amaya Peterson, I'll get you, I always do,"

Prologue
“Look at this Maya! More good reviews from our ** and f******k post,” Chet shoves the device into Amaya’s line of sight, interrupting her who was busy making a soft red velvet color fondant. “That’s great Chet, I’ll look at it later okay? I need to get this done, we have 3 dozens of roses to make you know,” Amaya sighs as Chet frown at her behavior, clearly not amused. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing, why would anything be wrong?” her eyes narrow at his words and he only serves to do the same, not backing down. This went on for a while, one had her hands busy kneading the soft dough of fondant while the male rest his hands by his hips. “Don’t play the fool card, I know you when something is bothering you,” he flicks her forehead and she hisses in return, obviously the act was unappreciated by her. “I’m not, look, if you’re not going to help me with these orders, go make coffee or wait the tables or something, leave me alone,” she rolls her eyes and begins to focus on her task at hand. “You do realize the order you’re making is due in five days right?” “So…?” Amaya’s shoulder shrugs as her kneading was done, ignoring him. “So… why are you working on it now when we have a cake order for tomorrow?”  Chet leans on the table, an eyebrow raises and she replies with a shrug again. The female continues her act like the male wasn’t there, busy putting the newly made fondant into an air-sealed container. “Something’s on your mind princess, tell me,” he shakes her by the shoulders as she was about to walk past him yet she only lets out a big fat sigh. “It’s Amelia,” guess there’s no running from him, well, he does kinda own this business too… “What about her?” he begins to help her clean up the work table. “She’s talking and giving out ideas about how we should expand our business, you know, make a franchise of the sorts,” she pouts as she begins to rub vigorously on the stubborn red spot of food coloring, I keep asking myself, why don’t I just mix these big scaled color fondant inside the mixer, but no… it had to be done by hand, ugh! “That’s awesome, right?” Chet confusedly watch his partner who seems like she’s murdering the table for being dirty in her mind, “Princess?” he nudged her and she jumps at the sudden contact. “What?!” her reply made him roll his eyes, she wasn't focusing on the subject again. “The idea Mia’s giving, it’s awesome right?” “Not really, no…” Amaya starts to roll her bottom lips with her teeth and he sighs aloud, not comprehending what she means. He stops her from her work and made her look at him, his eyes demanded answers and she was obviously avoiding him. “I… I’m not sure if an expansion is what we need, I mean, we’re doing good right?” she starts to talk when Chet had his serious face on, hands crossed against his chest. The two stayed silent and both of their emotions began rising, they hated when they could not agree and this is one of those moments. "I still think it's a good idea," "No, it's just going to be a lot of trouble," "No, you just don't want to try out new things," “Hayden!” he calls to the younger male who was just passing by, “Yeah, you guys need anything?” he frowns when he noticed the air of tension surrounding his two bosses. “Do you think an expansion is good or bad for our business?” Hayden’s eyes drift between Amaya and Chet, one looked slightly upset with the mix of annoyance in her form while the other looked annoyed mixed with frustrations, clearly for Amaya. “Honestly, having an expansion isn’t so bad, but why would we need to expand when we’re doing great here?” Hayden’s answer which came out like a question made Amaya look up at Chet with a triumph look but the male ignores it, “Thanks Hay, you can go back to work,” she grins from ear to ear but Chet pays no heed. “See? Mia’s idea was just ridiculous,” the emotion earlier gone and Chet rolls his eyes, “Not really,” he mumbles as he takes the other containers of fondant out of the chiller and she follows quietly. The two then continue to ignore each other as they began working on preparing and assembling their ordered cakes, one works on the outer details, the shape of fondants and marzipan, while the other works on the interior, the filling, and coating. As time passed, they began talking and joking again yet Chet still seems in a foul mood but Amaya didn’t notice, she was just happy to end the day at work. “What?” Amaya frowns when Chet still looks unamused even as they close the cafe, the older male holding onto her sling bag as she locks the doors. “I heard you’re going to the Moonlight’s Lite tonight… is that true?” “Yes my dearest Chester, why?” she giggles when his frown deepens, my cousin needs to lighten up a bit… “Why?” “Well, it’s Becca’s birthday party and she’s also throwing her bachelorette night there,” she shrugs as if it were any explanation, “I don’t like it,” Chet admits, going to a party on a work night is never good. “Oh why not?” her pout got pinched when Chet’s eyes focus on her, “I don’t like my baby cuz getting drunk on a working night,” she pushes his hand away, entering her car. “Oh, give me a break, I don’t drink that often, and if I get drunk, what’s the worst that could happen?” tilting her head with big eyes and pouty lips, she acts like a child asking for permission, not that she needs it. “Fine, but promise me this, if you can’t come to work tomorrow, call and I’ll have Hayden cover for your task of cake decorating,” and she eagerly grins while nodding her head as the sound of her car engine roaring. “Make sure to not talk to strangers,” he reminds and she could not help but laugh, “Dad and mom left me but you sure took their job as my parents seriously,” ignoring her words, he sped off and her laughter exploded once more.
