~Prologue~
As we have all learned, known, and ever heard; Time has a strong meaning.
What is that meaning?
Well, there are many answers depending on who you ask...
Time is life.....Time is like a book.....even time is love....or something like that.
But the one that was most important in the world I lived in was one simple sentence that added up my life in three words:
Time is money.
We were normal....at first. You see, we weren't completely normal. Every person that ever came out of a womb, breathed and ate and drink, and breed like us, humans mind you, were different in our own oddly normal way: We all all time, literally a clock that went up to decades, on I'm arms that told us how much time we had before we "time out", or died.
Why you ask?
Because that's just how f****d up life turned out to be. So, when babies were born they HAVE clocks on their arms as well, but the time doesn't start until they reach a certain age.
Guess they got a "bonus", huh?
Anyway, jobs were born, and instead of cash, currency, and dough, they add more time to our clocks, gaining us more time to distance ourselves from our death: our sudden and unavoidable fate.
Guess that brings us back to the quote "Time is money". Get my drift?
So, that brings population, money, time, but worst of all; social classes, r systems, or whatever you wanna call them! And when there is a system, such as this one, then there is most likely to be rebels, gangsters...mafias. That one circle in a group of squares and triangles, the one hole that doesn't have a button on your short, the one thing a social system tries to avoid and not make.
But they always fail. I've seen it happen more then once. Trust me.
So, the mafia's weren't happy with their daily pay and decided to rob people of they're time, so they can be "immortals", "gods", not the dead innocents laying on the streets that had tons of time left to live I bet.
There were plenty of times before where there were no ertain time zones, we shared our precious time to save lives, and we cared...ALOT. But now, as you can clearly see those precious times were over. For good now.
Before we finish off my little..."intro"...I wanna tell you two more things.
The way the social system was separated from the poor, the rich, the middle gang, was by Time Zones. There was 8 of them, 1 was the poorest of the poor and the one more likely to find innocents timed out, lying dead on the streets. And 8, you guessed it, was the "the gods" in "heaven", you'd have to pay up years to travel from Time Zone 1 to Time Zone 8.
So there. Now that we got most of the useless nonsense out of the way, we can focus on me and Mark's problem. Well....that's after you met me and Mark. A good place to start up how we both ended up in the same s**t hole is to go Time Zone 8, where you can meet me.
