Chapter 1
Alright the deal with me...Well, I'm a werewolf. Yeah yeah, I know vampires and werewolves don't exist. Whatever. But then there's the question How did I become like this? Was I born like this? Was I changed? well, I'll explain everything... I was walking in the woods behind my house, One Night trying to clear my head after my mom yelled at me, for no reason once again. That's normal in my house mom yells at me all the time. Blames me for everything. Its pitch black outside but I've always thought I had above average night vision, plus I've walked this path a million times. I was headed to my favorite tree, I always climb this tree to clear my mind it's kind of my special place. As I started to climb up I was yanked down by something. It was just dark enough outside that I couldn't see what grabbed me or the thing that grabbed me is pure black. Standing swiftly into a defensive pose, I quickly scanned my surroundings. I couldn't see anything but I could hear it. Whatever it was, wasn't making a move to attack or any threatening sounds. I was confused. Whatever grabbed me didn't hurt me. It seemed as though it just didn't want me up the tree, I know that sounds strange but I had this compelling feeling it wasn't going to hurt me. I was still trying to force my eyes to focus on what grabbed me. When I saw a flash of white above me in the trees. It looked like a human was jumping from tree branch to tree branch but alarmingly accurate, fast, and strangely pale. I've never brought anyone to my special place, nor told anyone about it. My woods are extremely secluded and private seeing someone out here, in general, was off-putting but someone out here at night moving that fast was a big red flag. Then I saw the flash of white again and in front of me heard a growl and saw a flash of white teeth. I started backing up away from the growling when I bumped into something hard and ice cold. Which wasn't the tree trunk I was expecting. Slowly I turned around to see what I had just bumped into. It looked like a man, but I knew it wasn't. He stood about six foot with shaggy hair. I couldn't tell the color because of how dark it was. I could only tell that it hung to his shoulders. His pale skin stood out against the backdrop of the black forest. I started backing up towards the growling, as that seemed safer than the man-like figure standing in front of me with a menacing expression and aura of danger so strong you could feel it in the air. Turns out I was right, finally being able to make out what was making the growling. It was a huge black wolf. Even in the dark, I could see the line of white fur that slashed across the right side of its ribs. Like a wound had been there and heeled. But the wolf wasn't concerned with me. Its focus was on the man in front of us. I went to slowly make a move to the right, focused on getting to the trail that would lead me back home. As soon as I even twitched to make my move. The man launched himself at me with long white fangs catching what little light they could. I braced myself for impact but it never came. I turned to see the wolf had jumped in front of me. The wolf was blocking me from the man, who I came to realize isn't a man, but a vampire. The vampire gave a low hissing growl. That's when they attacked each other. As they fought each other I felt a throbbing in my ankle seeing that the wolf managed to break the skin on my Achilles when he stopped me from climbing the tree, just enough to leave a small bite. I leaned down to see the bite when I heard a loud roaring howl of pain come from the vampire. Looking over at the wolf I could see his muzzle was covered in blood. Looking at the vampire I saw he had a good size wound on his neck that didn't look like the bleeding was going to stop anytime soon. But I don't know how vampires work. He flashed his fangs at us then vanished into the forest. The wolf turned to me, he cautiously limped over to me. Like he was trying to get across that he meant no harm. He looked at the bite mark he left and made a small whimper sound in the back of his throat. Then he licked the wound as if he was saying sorry. It was odd as soon as he licked it the pain stopped and the blood slowed. He then lifted his head and looked me dead in the eyes right before he ran off leaving me with this weird empty feeling. I shook my head trying to clear my thoughts of the events I just witnessed. I started walking back to my house listening for any little sound the whole way, afraid the vampire will come back now that the wolf is gone. After reaching the house safely. I head in to take a shower before my mom can see my appearance, and to wash the blood off my leg. Once in the shower, I feel myself start to relax. With my body relaxing I began to notice the throb of the bite mark again. It wasn't anything I couldn't handle. I am a redhead after all ( fun fact: redheads have a higher pain tolerance.) After finishing my shower I put a dressing on my wound and got ready for bed. Laying in bed I couldn't get my mind to stop racing. "Vampires are real?" right when I thought sleep would consume me, the bite mark started burning like it was on fire. Rubbing it through the bandage I stuck that leg out of the covers. Then sleep finally took me.
