Perry Dames is not your usual Beta. He's the second in command, the Great Beta of the Great Alpha. Usually, you'd find him bullying others and need I tell you, Perry Dames is good at bullying. It's his hobby. But when his mate came along his life, there's this confusion brewing inside him. Why did the Good Goddess have to choose a male mate for him, when clearly, he doesn't like men at all? He has let go of his mate once, not bothering to run after him when he saw him in a car, probably going home or God knows where.

Then there's Ean Davidson - Dave - Coffler, the bubbly, out-going, super friendly mate of Perry Dames, who comes prancing around and capturing Perry Dames's cold heart unknowingly. Cold and warm heart, if combined, what would be the outcome?

After the what happened to Dave, after getting knocked by a rogue, it would take a long process for him to heal. Surely, his mate would help just by staying by his side, but what miracle would it be when a wolf comes inside Dave and takes over his body to get him healed?

The Guardian; a defender, protector, or a keeper; a person who looks after and is legally responsible for someone who is unable to manage their own affairs.

This is the second book of The Broken Werewolves series, continuing after the f*******n Law.

Chapter 1
Chapter 1 Perry Dames, the Beta Hadley Martins was staring at me wide eyed, tears were running down his cheeks, reaching his chin and tears were dropping in the ground. Hadley Martins had really f****d up. I had just asked him to do such a simple thing yet he failed, thus resulting me to get really angry. The one thing I really hated was when I told someone to do something in a clear voice yet they couldn't do it right when I made sure that they would understand the simple instructions that I had given them. But no, Hardley Martins had to fail. I just asked him to get me a water, something that would quench my thirst yet he tripped and spilled the water on the ground. The thing was, I was really thirsty and my throat was very dry. The fact that I would ask someone again to get me a water to drink had really pissed me off, so I decided Hadley the beatings he deserved. My pals were watching me beat Hadley; Marcus, Kevin, Kyle, and Joel. They were looking at me with amusement in their eyes, and that pushed me to my edge. I really wanted Hadley to fear me, to make sure that he knew the Beta, which was me. I leaned down, pulling out a knife that was resting in my back pocket, and looked at Hadley with amusement in my eyes. I would just scare the kid away, to make sure not to mess up again the next time I asked him to do something easily. The fear in his eyes wasn't enough, so I would make sure to include a bit of pain so he would be able to understand the consequences if he failed again next time. Hadley hid his face using his forearm, trying to look anywhere but me and I felt disrespected. I snarled, slashing his forearm and blood poured out, him crying out in pain as he stared at me with teary eyes. I looked at the covered in blood knife and looked upwards, seeing the shocked expression of no other than the gay, who he thought he lived in a damn fairy tale, Kieran Lars Lockwood. He was the kid I really hated. In fact, everybody hated him. For one, he was an orphan. Secondly, he was gay. Third, he deserved hell. Eyes glinting as I looked at him, I stood up, making sure the blood would not wet my clothes and pants, I grabbed his hand and placed the knife in his hands, making sure that he would clench it hard until the blood poured out. Sadly, that didn't happen, because when before that happened, my d**k of a bestfriend showed up, who was the Great Alpha, Cloud Alistair Lylson. He asked us what was going on, and his eyes met Kieran's, who cowered in fear as he gazed at the Great Alpha's eyes. To be honest, I really didn't mean to blame everything on him, but it just so happened that I happened to be a d**k so I put the knife in his hand. But what's done was done, and I had to play my role; to be a d**k even more. So when no one answered, and Cloud seethed at everyone, snarling for someone to tell him what really happened, I pointed at Kieran, blaming all on him. Cloud made his way over to Kieran and asked him what was his problem, which made me smirk when he looked down on his feet, suddenly interested on looking at the ground as if he wasn't just ogling the Great Alpha, my bestfriend, few seconds ago. Cloud punished Kieran by locking him up in a dark and full of dust room for four days. For a moment, I felt sad but I pushed the emotion away, telling myself that Kieran deserved hell and everything negative. Four days ago, when Kieran was already freed from his punishment, he walked past us and everybody was looking at him with judgemental eyes and thoughts, making him bow his head in shame. The gang, which was consisted of the my bestfriend Cloud, Marcus, and I were snickering at his state. It looked like four trucks had run over him. We tried to conceal our snickering with a poker face, but unfortunately, Marcus being a d**k he was, he burst out laughing, commenting weakling to Kieran as he walked past by us, loud enough for him to hear. As he always did, Kieran ran into the wilderness, not bothering to give us a look as he ran deeper into the wilderness. The next day, it was the Great Alpha's birthday; the day where Cloud would meet his mate, and all day, he was so excited to meet his mate. The whole day, he was telling Marcus and I how excited he was to see his mate; what would she look like; what would be her features; to the point where I got really annoyed and just scowled at him. Of course, Cloud, being an asshole he was, just brushed it off with his hand and continued to torture Marcus by telling him about his mate and all. So I spared myself and went outside. Everything had been prepared already, and when the night came, Cloud would be able to meet his mate. I wondered who would be my mate. That night, it turned out that the mate of the Great Alpha was no other than the outcast, Kieran Lars Lockwood. Of course, as soon as the Great Alpha became aware of the situation, he immediately rejected Kieran and Kieran accepted it, stuttering as he said his reply to Cloud's rejection over him. After that, Cloud let Kieran ran into the wilderness, ignoring the disgusted stares of the people of the Blue Sky Pack. There was an instinct, a pull, and I decided without really thinking much of it; I followed Kieran into the wilderness. It seemed like there was someone who whispered in my ear to follow him, to watch him, to make sure that he would be safe. Being rejected by a mate, it felt like dying. Sooner or later, after the rejection, Cloud would feel the pain in his heart but Kieran was already feeling it. There were a few people who had survived the rejections of their mate. Some of rejected went rogues while the others killed themselves because of the unbearable pain. I hope it would not happen to Cloud; to my bestfriend. When I went to follow Kieran, there he was, in the middle of the wilderness, performing some sort of ritual and I watched everything. From how he chanted the words to his glowing figure. That's when I knew that there was something wrong; something had been unleashed. I felt the pain Kieran was feeling. Suddenly, I couldn't sense anything on him, like his wolf had been vanished suddenly. Kieran ran again, forcing his legs to move; to get out of the situation he was in. The reason why I followed him was I knew I should get him back to the Pack Land. Knowing the effect of the rejection, they were the only ones who would be able to mend each other's heart. Despite my hatred towards Kieran, I couldn't afford my bestfriend to just die because of an unbearable pain. No, I wouldn't let it, even if I forced Cloud to be with Kieran. But when Kieran ran off to the road, that was the time he got hit by a truck and I watched in a far as the car stopped suddenly. A man got out of the car, who looked like he was about 17 years of ago or even younger. His hair was dark brown, brushed to the side as his beautiful brown eyes gazed at the unconscious figure of Kieran. That's when I felt it, the tug of my heart towards the man and my eyes widen in realization. This man was my mate. I was too shocked to even move. Even move a single muscle, I couldn't do it as my eyes focused on the man with the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen. His name was Dave, as I had heard from the woman who got out few seconds after Dave did. They went over to Kieran, lifted him up, and brought them inside the car; both of them were panicking as they slid Kieran's body in the car, on the backseat. +++ Here I am, watching my mate in sadness. Dave's sleeping figure is making my wolf Zane whines in pain. All the time, he has been clawing and thrashing, ignoring my pleads for him to just calm down. I have been telling him that sooner or later, Dave would wake up and that he would be fine, just like before. But even I myself can't believe what I told myself. Perhaps I'm just making everything lighter. But all I really want to happen is for Dave to wake up, to be in my arms, and be happy together. Is that too much to ask? I know that I have f****d up before, but I have regretted it already. I have paid for my mistakes. I have suffered as well, when I chose not to follow Dave because I was shitless scared when I found out that he was my mate. Dave, please wake up. I whine, joining Zane's misery as we both look at our mate's unconscious body.
