The forest of Edith was not a place for little girls; my parents always told me. I was only 7 years old when I asked if I could go explore the forest. I lost everything that day. I am 18 years old and I wish someone would have told me what was about to happen to me. My name is Emerald Sky and I am the daughter of an alpha werewolf and I am the alphas mate.

Flashback
My brother Garrett and I was outside playing in the snow in the backyard, considering it was the middle of December, I was wanting to build a snowman since we finally had enough snow on the ground. Garrett was 9 and I was 7, we looked completely different. I had long wavy red hair with bright green eyes, I guess that’s why my parents named me Emerald, while Garrett had dark brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone who looked at us side by side would never guess we were siblings. I threw a snowball at Garrett and it hit him right in the face. I fell to my knees laughing at the look on his face. I didn’t even notice him walking over to me till I seen his snow boots in front of me. I looked up at him and he had a smile and I knew that I was in trouble. I jumped up to run but by the time I got to my feet I was already on the ground and had snow being thrown on my face. After trying to get him off of me I finally managed to push him off and I ran. I didn’t hear him yelling at me to stop until I had already ran into the forest of Edith. My parents always told me to never go into the forest because it was a dangerous place. I looked behind me and I couldn’t see Garrett anymore, but I could hear him yelling my name worried. I suddenly felt like someone was watching me and I turned around in a circle to see if anyone was there, but I didn’t see anyone. I started to walk back the way I came following my footsteps when suddenly a giant wolf jumped in front of me. Falling back on my butt I screamed to the top of my lungs. Garrett screamed my name louder; my parents was with him yelling my name and I knew if I got out of here alive that I would me in some deep trouble. I looked at the wolf and it was walking up to me growling. I finally noticed how big the wolf was when it was finally right in front of me. It had to be at least 5 feet tall. By this time, I was crying knowing that I would never see my parents again or never be able to have mine and Garrett’s little fights where we would end up laughing till, we both was crying of laughter. I suddenly felt something wet on my nose and opened my eyes and I see these beautiful blue eyes that looked like the sky on a nice cloudless sunny day. It whimpered and laid down on its belly with its paws and head on my legs. I slowly put my hand on the top of its head and rubbed behinds its ears. A small sound that sounded like a purr came from the wolf. I laughed hearing this and said “you're not so scary after all are you girl.” It lifted its head up and it looked like it squinted its eyes and me. “Are you a boy then, it seems like you didn’t like me calling you a girl,” I asked the wolf feeling kind of silly talking to the wolf. The wolf perked up and jumped in circles when I asked if it was a boy. Laughing at the wolf I decided to make a snow ball and throw it at him. He stopped and looked at me, he turns his head to the side giving me a wolfish smile and ran at me. Turning around screaming I ran from the wolf only to have it jump on me. I feel my hair start to get wet in the back and roll over and see the same wolfish smile. He put his nose in the snow and flicked it up on me. I laughed because the wolf wants to play. The wolf crouches down and started growling looking behind me. I turn around seeing a man with pure black eyes looking at the wolf with a sadistic grin on his face. I run pass the wolf only to see him jump on to the man. While I am running away, I hear growling from both of them. I could see the edge of the forest with my parents and Garrett on the back porch. My mother had her head in my father's neck, and I could see her shoulders raising up and down. Garrett had his head in his hands shaking his head side to side. I yelled to them and their heads snapped up looking for me. They jumped up and ran to me, when they finally got to me my father grabbed me and picked me up kissing my cheek. They took me in the house, I then realized how cold I was from being outside for so long. After changing in to clean clothes I was sitting in our living room in front of the fire place with a cover wrapped around me. I could hear the fire crackling. My parents gave me a long talk about how they have told me a thousand times to not go into that forest. After the talk with my parents, Garrett just hugged me and told me how happy he was that I was okay. I was woken up from my sleep by what sounded like glass breaking. I put my fuzzy slippers on and walk out of my bedroom to go down the stairs to see what was going on. When I get to the middle of the stairs, I hear mother scream and a loud thump. I race down the rest of the stairs to see father being thrown against a wall. The same man from the forest was standing in the middle of our living room. I look over to mother and see she has a piece of glass deep I her thigh. I run over to her to help her get it out, but she stops me saying “Wake Garrett up and run,” she has tears running down her face. Taking a deep breath, she continues “Don’t look back go to your aunt Jenna’s and tell her what has happened she will take care of you.” I beg her to let me help her, but she just kept pushing me away saying “go hurry you don’t have much time, just remember that me and your father loved you and Garrett so much.” I finally go wake Garrett up and tell him we must go. We go to window and climb out grabbing the tree that is beside the house. When we get half way down the road I stop to think over what mom had said “don’t look back,” but I couldn’t help it. When I turned around to look at whatever it was, we were running from the house went up in flames. My body went numb and my legs gave out. Before I could fall onto the road Garrett catches me and was saying something to me, but I could not hear him, all I could hear was moms voice saying, “don’t look back.” I gathered myself as much as I could and told Garrett we had to go to aunt Jenna’s house.
