"I put no stock in the Moon Goddess's choices look at the mother she picked for you." I hated to hear him talk so badly about my mother. I know she didn't make good choices but a part of me would always love her. She betrayed my father with his brother and left us both behind. "I won't hear another word about you finding a pathetic fated beloved." "Troy is a strong vampire and he will make a good King when I step down." "I want you to spend time with him and get used to the idea of him being your chosen beloved." I wanted to please my father so I agreed even though a part of me hated this idea. Not because I don't like Troy, he is handsome and strong. He has always been nice to me. I will father, he smiled and hugged me. I left to find Troy and get to know him better. 19 years old Violet POV I have been away on a trip for father since the beginning of the week. I'm glad to be home and can't wait to see Troy. I got home a day earlier than I had planned so I can't wait to surprise him. I come to our bedroom door I can hear noises I shouldn't be hearing. I slam open the door to find Troy f**king one of the Coven members. I slam the door closed and take off toward the woods. How could he do this to me after I gave myself to him? How could he betray me like this? I find myself near the lake outside of the castle and sit on a rock to think about what to do next. I will not tolerate this betrayal and I hope my father guts him. I hear footsteps and I know immediately its him. I suggest unless you want your d**k ripped off you get the f**k away from me. He chuckles honest to goddess he does. I stand and turn to him. He uses his speed to come up to me wrapping his hand on my throat. He forgets I am as strong as he is. I knee him in the balls and when he is down, I kick him in the face. "We will see what your father has to say about that." I head for my father's office and don't turn back to give him another look. I knock when I arrive and my father tells me to enter. He smiles when he sees me at first and then he must see my face. "What is the matter Violet, what happened?" Troy betrayed me with one of the Coven members. I caught them in the act and I rejected him. "Did he accept it? Not yet but I don't care if he does, I will never be with him now. "Stop talking nonsense Violet you don't throw away a relationship over one indiscretion." Are you kidding me right now, you think I will stay with him when he was unfaithful? Just as I get the last word out of my mouth the b**tard himself enters the office. "My King I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused I made a mistake and I'm very sorry." I'm sure you are, you want to be King I say with all the venom I can muster. "Violet stop acting like a petulant child he said he was sorry and I believe him" my father says. Then you be his beloved because I will not. My father slaps me across the face and I grab my cheek. "I understand why you are upset but do not be disrespectful to me child." Fine father I won't but I still am not going to be with him. "Violet, I want this worked out, it is not the end of the world." I turn and leave my father's office not only betrayed by Troy but now my father. When I reach the room, we have shared for a year I think about what he has been doing every time father sent me on outings. Did my father know? I stuff everything I can fit into my bag and head for the door. Troy is in the hall way and grabs my arm. "Where do you think you are going?" Away from your cheating a** and my father. "Like hell you are I will be King whether you like it or not." Good luck with that but I won't be your Queen. He tries to restrain me again but I have had enough. I punch him in the face knocking him out cold. I may be a princess but I don't take sh*t from anybody. I made sure that I trained with the warriors to be able to defend myself. I head toward the territory line outside the castle. I take one more look at the place I have called home all my life and I start walking. I don't even know where I am going but I refuse to stay here. Troy POV Damnit, I wish I knew she would have been home early I would have never f**ked that girl in our room. I always make sure they are gone so she wouldn't know. When I leave her father's office, I go to find her. I'm going to have to grovel and pretend I care about her feelings. I don't I just want to be King. She is trying to leave and I grab a hold of her. That's the last thing I remember until I wake up in the hallway. She punched me in the face and left. I run to the King's office. I enter and he is seated behind his desk. "You couldn't just keep it in your pants?" I didn't know she was coming back today. "You could have taken her anywhere, why would you take her to your shared room?" I wasn't thinking my lord. "Obviously, why aren't you groveling to get back in her good graces you idiot." She is gone she hit me and then left. "She should have never trained with the warriors the way she did." The King calls for his soldiers and we all leave in search of Violet. Violet POV I took several different buses so they could not follow me. I have some money that I have saved that I hope will get me a place until I can find a job. I come to a human city and I know I will be able to blend in easily. I find a coffee shop and head inside to think. I know most people don't know but vampires don't just drink blood. I eat food and I love coffee. I order a large coffee and a blueberry muffin. I grab a seat and try to come up with a plan. I see a paper on the counter and ask the girl if I can use it which she smiles and nods. I begin to look for the ads for help. I find a club that's hiring waitress. It's a place called the Wolves Den. They couldn't be more blatant if they tried, I think to myself. It must be run by wolves. I should be able to get a job there. I walk the five blocks to the club and I go inside. The first person I meet is a bubbly blond girl who I immediately know is a wolf. "Hi I'm Tammy what can I do for you?" I was wondering about your ad for a waitress. "Great we could really use the help." I assume what I am is not going to be a problem. "Absolutely not we have all kinds of super naturals working here." I smile and she shows me around. She gives me a uniform and tells me to come back tonight. You wouldn't know of a place to rent near here? "As a matter of fact, I was looking for a new roommate if you are interested?" I am very interested. "Great I'll take you to my place and then we can come back together." Isn't your boss going to be upset if you leave while you're supposed to be working? "My boss is my pain in my a** brother so I'm not worried." I laugh, I already like this girl and I am glad to have found a job, an apartment, and a friend.
