Blurb

In a morbid city, police often resorted to a super detective who tackles the cases that seem unsolvable. The killings under the Moonlight haunted everybody in the city of Finnevile. The only distinguishable patterns were the sudden disappearances, just a smudge of blood on the walls and an eerie Moonlight Symphony playing whenever a victim was found. Growing restless, the renowned detective resorts to some unpopular tactics to put an end to the murderous rampage.

Killings under the moonlight symphony had made Finnvile infamous. It was home to some of the deadliest killers on the loose but it also housed the best detective known for tackling some of the world's strangest incidents. He would take up cases that others would ignore and shed light on them. Mael, he was called. Silver hair almost fully covers a round, friendly face. Darting deep brown eyes, set appealingly within their sockets. “As I've said, there are no real patterns to the moonlight killings save for the symphony that is played when someone disappears,” said Mael as he often held a press conference. “Make no mistake, this all but a charade to cover the most basic instinct a human being can possess: the desire to kill and to be heard.” “Detective, but there were no bodies found at all, you coming forth and saying that these are killings is quite disturbing . . . is that what you are saying? That this is merely the act of a serial killer?” asked one of the journalists gathered there. “In all thirteen cases, not one family stepped forward and reported a ransom for the return of their loved ones. That, can only mean that these are killings perpetrated by a large organization.” “It is interesting that you say this, what leads you to believe that a higher organization is behind these incidents?” “Do you understand the logistics needed to carry out a carefully conducted operation like this? There is no way this is the work of an individual. I also believe that they have had help from within the police force as well,” Mael said as he smirked into the cameras. He knew that this would generate quite a buzz, but he was counting on it. Upon saying this, the journalists gathered to witness the interview pressed Mael to answer their questions. The sounds arose as if little bees were busy working. “I'm sorry, no more questions,” said Mael as he got up. He took the mic out, and left the room leaving everyone buzzing and baffled. *** The underworld was home to many of the notorious criminals that took refuge in the darkness. Away from the light of the city. All kinds of criminals could be found here. “That bastard did it again,” said one of the men who had an audience surrounding him. “Calm down Larry, we're in the f*****g underworld. The cops can't get us here,” one of his friends said as he approached them. “He really pisses me off. He is giving us a bad rep.” “What, is he hurting your feelings?” Cracked the other guy, as he burst into laughter. “You can laugh if you want, but you better not f**k up the new job you hear?” “For the hundredth time Larry, the best way to get to the bank is if we take the Slim Road shortcut, it's just a fifteen-minute trip!” he said before he took a pause. “You do your part, and believe me we'll walk out of this one as millionaires,” he added. “You better be f*****g right.”
