Amaranthine has a strange ability to see the future of a person by looking deep into their eyes. After learning that she could only see the future of their lives with her, she thought it was a wonderful gift but little did she know that it's not. One day, she ran into a strange guy and accidentally made eye-contact with him but the odd thing is, she didn't see any future of them together.

Chapter 1 - Amaranthine
The future can be a scary thing. There are some people who are so afraid of it, they refuse to take risks and accept different opportunities and chances. I'm one of those people. "Amara, can you check if I'll get promoted?" My mother's best friend sat in front of me. I sighed. I looked at my mother who was busy preparing for dinner. "Aunt Belle, I can't--" She cut me off. "You can check if I threw a party or had a celebration with you guys! That way I'll know if I got promoted." I looked over at my mother who supportively nodded and gave me a thumbs-up. "Okay then," I groaned. "Alright!" She squealed. I sat in front of her and started to do something that isn't foreign to me anymore. After a good 10 seconds of us staring deep in to each other's eyes, I finally saw some different snippets of Aunt Belle's future. There was an image of us celebrating, so from there we could assume that she got promoted.. but wait? Why is she crying? She was crying at first and we were there to comfort her. After that, she went to her company with us and submitted a resignation letter? What? After that, she treated us to dinner and we celebrated. Oh. It's clear to me now. I closed my eyes. Every time this happens, when I do wonders that humanity doesn't know, I close my eyes to stop seeing way beyond what I'm supposed to see. When she saw me with my eyes closed, Aunt Belle squealed in excitement. This is the hardest part of doing this. I can't lie or fool them with my sweet words because it's their future. "What happened?" She said when I finally opened my eyes. I took a deep breath. "You celebrated." My mom and her squealed again in excitement without letting me finish. I stood up and cleared my throat. ".. your new job." With the rapid changing of the world I'm living in, a person with a peculiar ability like me would rather keep it to myself and eat hot Cheetos than telling the world that I have the power to see the future.
