Never back down

I sit at my desk waiting for an important phone call *god I hate waiting feels like I am wasting time* I think to myself. I look at my watch I have another ten minutes before Oliver will call, I look over the information I have gathered on Oliver’s company. He is losing money and soon he will lose his company if he doesn’t get help, I personally would buy his company and merge it with my own. Just as I think this Lily my business partner walks into my office. “Lily what the f**k?” I ask her angrily “don’t worry no one saw me come in your office” LIly says while smiling, I am not in the mood for games today “I am not in the for your f*****g games today Lily, you know no one is aloud in my office so that no one finds out my identity” I scold her.  Now Lily looks pissed “remember I am your partner Miss R not your employee” she says angrily, as she says this I stand up “you may be my partner but I am still the CEO which means I am the boss, there is a reason why I have the rule that no one comes in here” I say letting my anger get the better of me. Lily looks like I hurt her feelings, I walk over to Lily and bring her in to a hug while saying “Lily I’m sorry I shouldn’t of had a go at you like that, I’ve just have a lot on my mind” Lily just smiles “don’t worry R I understand, oh look at that you have five minutes before Oliver calls” she says hugging me back. As I walk around my desk I see Lily walking to the door of my office she turns and says “time for me to be the face of the company” Lily winks at me while I just smile and shake my head. That’s the deal Lily and I came to when I started this company, because of my past I didn’t want people to know who I have become so Lily became the face of the company while I sort out the business and make deals with other companies, Lily takes the contracts to them for them to sign or hires new people when needed after talking to me, I also make the tough decisions when needed. It is silent in my office until the buzzing sound of my phone goes, I press the button to speak “yes?” I ask, my assistant Jade reply’s “I have a Mr Bucker on the line Miss R” “put him through” I tell Jade as I pick up the phone. At first there’s nothing but silence then I hear a angry voice “Miss R why have you been investigating my company?” I wait a couple of seconds before I answer “well Oliver I was wondering weather to buy your company or not considering that your company is losing a lot of money” “you will not touch my company, I have built this company myself” Oliver shouted with anger. I keep calm “ I know that, that’s why I had a plan to help your company start making a profit again” I say smiling knowing Oliver as I do I know he will be thinking about what I have planned. After some time thinking Oliver says “what plan do you have?” That is when I start to explain. Two hours later “So I will help you and in return I get thirty percent of the controlling shares of your company agreed?” I say to Oliver “agreed” good I will start writing up the contact and have it with you by Monday” “Monday is good” Oliver reply’s “goodbye” I say hanging up I get excited, I’ve always wanted a share of Oliver’s company, it has the potential to make a lot of money and now some of that will be mine. I look down at my watch and realise it is lunch time I press the buzzer telling Jade to get me some lunch and get lily to come to my office with my lunch. As I wait for Lily my mobile starts ringing, only family members and Lily have my mobile phone number while looking at my phone to see who is calling hoping it was Lily I find out it is my sister Becky god I hate her. “Hello Becky” I say sourly “hey loser how’s my pathetic little sister still working as a waitress?” I roll my eyes at what my sister just said none of my family know where I work they think I am some kind of waitress. “I’m fine and yes I am, not everyone can be as perfect as you” I say sarcastically “of course not there’s only one me” Becky says laughing, god our parents should of called her big head not Rebecca “is there a reason your calling me?” “Of course I wouldn’t waist my time on a loser like you, mom wants you to come home there’s a family dinner” Becky stated “I’m not coming home” I said through my teeth. There is no way in hell would I ever go back to that hell hole, I haven’t been back since the day I left for college. “Don’t worry about money daddy has bought you a ticket for tonight” Becky says sweetly too sweetly “no one wants me there so why should I come” I ask Becky “well jack would want you there” Becky said slowly. I gripped the phone a lot tighter than I was I haven’t thought about Jack in a long time I don’t let myself think about him he hurt me too much. “Why would Jack want to see me Becky?” I say angrily, I know that Becky is smiling now “well I wasn’t meant to tell you but we are getting married in three months” Becky said happily. All I felt was shock and pain how could this happen after everything they did to me they get the happy ever after “see you tonight” Becky said hanging up the phone. As I dropped the phone Lily walked in, when she saw the look on my face she quickly ran to me seeing if I was alright “R what’s wrong?” Lily asked while shaking me when I didn’t answer she said the one thing she knew that would make me answer “Robyn tell me what happened?” When she said my name I looked at her I couldn’t think of anything else to say other than “Becky and Jack” as I said their names I watched Lily’s face drop.
