A Great Day
I wake up in a hurry. As I quickly put on my clothes I look over at the time to see how late I'll be. 6:42 AM. I still had time.
As I slowed down my pace I heard the radio downstairs, my mom was listening to the news again. I finished putting my clothes on and opened the door to brush my teeth, only to be greeted by my cat Pilot. Pilot is a nice guy -to me at least- but he can be very clingy. I walk past Pilot after greeting him and go brush my teeth, after which I then walk downstairs to the kitchen.
"It's a miracle you're awake now." I heard a raspy voice say, followed by a sip of coffee.
"You know the news make you depressed, why do you keep it on so much?" I say as I take an apple of the counter.
She lowered her newspaper and looked at me dead in the eye.
"Today has good news, I heard from aunt Dellie." I sighed in relief as she didn't get mad at me for asking a genuine question.
I take a bite from my apple occasionally as I put on my sneakers and grab my keys.
I left the house quickly as if there had happened something terrible in there, but it hadn't.
I look at the block on my wrist. It's leather band around it gives me a warm feeling of comfort. I now look at the time, it reads 7:03. I sprint towards the train before it takes it's leave.
7:10, I'm of for school. ANother day, another pain.
