The Blinded Mate

Imogens POV Fear, it seemed to be the only emotion I would ever feel for the rest of my life. I was afraid when Christopher took me, afraid when my mother told me her plan for me to escape, afraid to actually escape with a baby no less. Now I was afraid of the loud, dangerous growling that was coming from behind me. I knew I was going to wolf pack but they weren't expecting me. The baby girl in my arms started crying, surely hungry by now. She had been in this world no more than an hour and was already in danger. The sound of the baby's cries stopped the wolf's growling behind me. My breath hitched in my throat as I heard the paws moving slowly towards me. I knew I should probably run but I was cemented in place too afraid to run. I could feel the warmth and power radiating from the wolf as it slowly approached. I felt it's snout next to my arm and I heard it sniff. Then it's foot steps retreating behind me again, before the sound of bones popping and shifting started. "Who are you?!" an angry male voice asked behind me. "My name is Imogen Brady" I started to say with a shaky voice. "You're Clarissa and Adam's daughter?" He asked me. I nodded my head in response. "I'm Lukas, Alpha of the Lightning Moon Pack" He said introducing himself. "Can we please get the baby to your hospital? I want to make sure she's okay" I said and that was all it took. I didn't hear anything from him for a couple minutes, "Lukas you still here?" I asked. "Yes sorry I was sending a link to someone from my pack to get a car here now" He responded. "Is that like telepathy?" I asked bouncing the baby lightly in my arms trying to help sooth her a little bit. "Yeah sort of" He said. I heard a car pulling up behind me as Lukas came to stand beside me. "Come on let's get her checked out" He said with a hand on my back leading me to the car. He helped me get in as he climbed in as well. We sped off down the road reaching the pack house in no time. Lukas ushered me into the building as I heard another male voice. "Here miss let me see the baby" The man said as I felt his hands brush against mind trying to take her. I held on a little tighter before Lukas reassured me. "It's okay he's the doctor" He said. I relaxed and handed the baby over. "Alpha, ma'am if you could both please go to the waiting room while I check her over" The doctor said and Lukas led me out. He sat me on a couch then plopped down next to me. "What happened?" he asked me. I told him everything from Christopher taking me, to helping Lilith give birth, to this moment. "I'm sorry for you loss" He said softly as he placed a gentle hand on mine. I wiped away new tears that had started falling from down my cheeks. "I should be the one saying sorry" I said. "What are you talking about?" He asked me. "I'm the reason this whole thing happened in the first place" I said lowering my head. Lukas moved to sit next to me and put his arm around my shoulder. "None of this is your fault" He said but I didn't believe him. If it weren't for me being blind, my parents wouldn't have gone to such desperate lengths to get money. So his mate wouldn't have been kidnapped, my parents would be dead. I stayed silent as my tears continued to flow. I huffed and wiped them away "This birthday sucks" I said. "How old are you?" he asked. "Eighteen" I said. "Well I know it's not actually happy but, happy birthday" He said. I heard two sets of feet stampeding down the hall. As the sounds got closer their feet screeched on the tile flooring. I heard two people breathing heavily from running. "Guys this is..." Lukas started to say but were cut off by the two voices who had joined us. I felt two hands, one taking each of mine, sparks erupting all over my skin at the feeling. My heart started thundered in my chest as I was suddenly sandwiched between two bodies. "Mate" they said in unison. Their noses on either sides of my neck as I froze in place. "Uh Lukas?" I asked in a panick. "Guys back off a little!" Lukas said as suddenly their body heat was gone. "Collin go check with Dr. Callaghan and meet your daughter" Lukas said in a powerful tone. "Yeah sorry" He said. That voice sounded familiar but where had I heard it before I wondered to myself. I felt hands on my hips as I was pulled back onto someone's lap, their nose at my neck again causing goose bumps erupted. "Colt enough" Lukas said pulling me away from him. I heard him growl before Lukas interrupted. "Knock it off man! Can't you see she's confused as s**t right now" He said causing Colt to go silent. "Go check on your brother and niece please" He said and Colt grumbled as he walked away. Lukas sat me down in a chair before letting out a huge sigh. "What the hell is going on?" I asked him once we were alone. "How much do you know about wolves?" He asked me. "Not a whole lot, I've never been around your kind before" I admitted. "Okay well let me explain some important details." Lukas said. He told me all about mates and how their Moon Goddess blessed every with the a soul mate. Their other half, their complete compliment making them whole. He explained how sometimes twins could have one mate or two seperate mates just depended on whatever the Moon Goddess' plan was. It turned out that was "blessed" with the twins as mates. "How the f**k is that going to work? I've never gone past  first base with one guy, let alone two!" I said covering my face. Before Lukas could continue I sensed my apparent mates behind us. I whirled around "How is she?" I asked. "She's perfectly healthy" one of the twins said. "Can we know your name beautiful?" the other had asked as they both took my hands again.  "I'm Imogen, Imogen Brady" I replied. "She's Clarissa and Adam's daughter" Lukas said. Suddenly one of the twins dropped my hand as if I had suddenly burned him. "No, absolutely not" He said and left. I felt a sudden emptiness in my heart and tears came forth to my eyes. I don't even know this guy, so why did my heart feel like it was breaking?
