Girl Power - Chasing her Apollo Writing Contest

Excerpt

His blood boiled and he cursed the Moon Goddess. How was a pathetic human supposed to be his queen? He grabbed her by the arm and dragged her around the corner before anyone could see them.

“I don’t know what the Moon Goddess was thinking when she paired me with a pathetic human and a disgusting slut too. How many men have you f*cked? Do you just open your legs for everyone, or is there a charge?” he sneered.

“You don’t deserve to be my queen and mate,” he spat. “I, Davin Erikson, reject you, Gudrun Erling, as my mate and queen,” he growled. She laughed. The melodious sound both enchanted and mocked him.

His eyes widened; how was she able to laugh off the pain of rejection? Humans were known to go into comas and die from a true mate’s rejection. ‘Just another reason they were unfit,’ he thought. She continued to laugh, and then suddenly, her expression changed to disdain.

“Better to stand and fight. Run, and you’ll only die tired.” That was one of Gia’s grandfather’s favorite sayings and he spent her childhood drumming it into her.

Gia (Gudrun) is a human with ties to the supernatural. When she starts working for the Rad, the council which oversees the supernatural world, she meets Davin and realizes that she is his mate. Davin is everything she hates in a male and she would rather die than submit to such a pompous a.ss. Davin, on the other hand, finds humans to be beneath him, then he realizes his long-awaited mate is human.

Gia finds an ancient relic that would uncover a dire threat to the entire supernatural world. All evidence suggests that an alliance with the werewolves is the only way to save them all. Would Gia and Davin put aside their mutual loathing and find a way to work together to save them all?

Prologue
She walked into the pub, aware of the many stares she had attracted, but there was only one particular gaze she was interested in. Sauntering up to the bar, she sat down a few meters from him, making sure he saw her. Slowly, she crossed one bare leg over the other, the stiletto heels emphasizing the length of her legs, knowing he was watching.  “A martini, please, dirty,” she smirked at the bartender and then heard an intake of breath to her right. ‘Oh yeah, he had heard me,’ she thought. The bartender grinned. He was hot. He ran his hands through his long wavy hair and stared intently at her with gorgeous green eyes, but he was not why she was there. She raised an eyebrow, and he turned around to make her drink.  She glanced over to her right; he was staring at her as planned. She gave him her best sultry smile; she had practiced it enough to know its effect. It was an invitation. He looked surprised and then returned the smile tentatively as if he wanted to check if she was smiling at someone behind him. That amused her to no end. Perhaps the scholarly professor was not used to such overt flirting in public; she would use that to her advantage. She broke eye contact when her drink arrived.  “Thank you,” she said breathily and took a sip of the feisty drink. It felt warm as it flowed down her throat. Next, she took the olive and seductively put it in her mouth; her audience was spellbound. Not really spelled though, she was human after all, and so was the professor. On the other hand, the bartender was a shifter, a handsome wolf. She could somehow tell despite her magicless heritage. Usually, she would be more than happy to have his attention, but not tonight. Tonight she had different priorities. She glanced at the professor again, his eyes still glued to her, and smiled.  “I’m Gia,” she greeted, “it’s nice to meet you.” His cheeks flushed slightly. ‘So cute,’ she thought. He was attractive for an intelligent guy, with a robust frame, ginger hair and beard, and sea-green eyes. She wondered what he had done to attract her presence. She ditched the thought before it could take root.  “Thomas,” he replied shyly, “it’s good to meet you too.” He moved closer to her. “What brings you here? This is my usual watering hole, and I haven’t ever seen you here before.”  “Oh, I just had a terrible day, saw this place on my way home, and thought I’d drown my sorrows a little before going home to my empty place,” she lied unreservedly. His face lit up, he smelled opportunity, and it looked like he was keen. This was not really her kind of place; it was a pub, Irish-style, a place meant for magical creatures, really although humans were allowed too. She preferred high-end, modern bars with delectable wines, preferably human, so she wouldn’t always have to watch her back.  “I’m so sorry to hear that,” he frowned a little adorably. “Is there anything I can do to help?” he asked somewhat genuinely. She mentally smirked; they were so easy.  “I think you’re already helping,” she smiled, “you’re a very handsome man.” His eyes dilated, registering her meaning, and he swallowed hard. She sipped the last of her drink, licking her full lips. “How about we go somewhere a little more private?” she suggested. He stared at her until she cleared her throat.  “Uh, sure,” he stammered, blushing slightly.  ‘That’s right, professor, I’m about to give you the ride of your life,’ she mused.  They walked out of the bar to his car, and he opened the door for her. She slid in slowly, showing off her attributes. She knew her large bust was a drawcard, competing closely with her substantial bottom and long legs. She noticed a slight bulge in the professor’s pants. She was going to put it to good use.   The drive was short, they arrived at a nondescript apartment block in a nearby leafy suburb, and he opened the car door for her again. The area was quiet, families had already turned in for the night, and the only sounds were that of the odd dog barking and random cars. He unlocked the apartment door and allowed her to enter ahead of him.  His place was impressive, not huge, but stylishly decorated with various artifacts on display. It reminded her of an elegant museum and piqued her curiosity.  “What’s all this?” she asked as she looked around. She had always been interested in ancient cultures.  “I confess I am a bit of a collector,” he replied, “I teach anthropology at Yale.”  She hummed, making her way over to him. Slowly, she dragged a finger across his chest, making sure she touched his n****e. He exhaled harshly, and she leaned in to kiss him. His hands gripped her hips tightly, and she moaned softly. She loved that firm hold; she liked it rough. She was going to enjoy this immensely. Without breaking the kiss, he lifted her, and she wrapped her legs around him while he carried her to the bedroom.  He lay her on the bed, quickly lifted her dress, and tugged her panties down. He sniffed them and threw them to the side.  ‘Kinky,’ she thought.  He turned and positioned her on all fours, then licked her from top to bottom. Suddenly a hard slap burned her bottom, she gasped. It took a few seconds for her to realize what had happened. He rubbed the lingering stinging sensation away, and juices gathered between her legs. Who knew the professor would give her such a wonderful experience.  He rubbed each cheek as he continued to bury his face between her legs and then peppered them with hard smacks, driving her to distraction. It didn’t take long for her to orgasm; she adored grinding herself on his face. Now it was her turn. She turned around and pulled him onto the bed. She took her time unbuckling his pants and grazing her hands over his rock-hard bulge. She slid his pants and underwear down to his knees, effectively trapping them, and licked him from his base to the tip.  She wet her lips and slid him into her mouth slowly, enjoying the look of amazement and sheer pleasure on his face as he watched her. She sped up a little, sucking the head hard until he moaned loudly. Then she slid it all the way to her throat, humming a little. The vibration drove him wild, and his hips bucked as he groaned.  “Oh God, that feels so amazing,” he choked out. She squeezed his balls gently and felt him buck again.  She wanted to feel him now, so she got up and positioned herself above him, then slowly slid down onto his shaft. The sensation was delicious, and as he filled her, she moaned. She slowly started an up and down motion, enjoying the feeling, and increased the pace until she was riding him as fast as possible. He lifted her hips, holding her still, and pumped up into her, hard and fast. She was in absolute heaven.  He carried on that way until she couldn’t take it anymore; her muscles tightened involuntarily as waves of pleasure washed over her. She came hard around him, her juices wetting his crotch. He pumped a few more times, and then she felt his entire body shudder as he orgasmed as well.  As they recovered from their high, two quick taps to her ring activated the needle. She kissed him passionately as she stuck the very fine point deep into his carotid artery, delivering the fatal poison directly to his bloodstream. He didn’t even feel it; he would just go to sleep in a euphoric state and never wake up. He would die a very happy man.  She got up, cleaned herself up, and got dressed. She didn’t know what the professor had done to bring Rad down on him; he had seemed like a good, genuine guy. She sighed. It was not her place to ask questions; Rad didn’t make mistakes.  She walked through the living room, and something caught her attention in the corner. A strange-looking relic was sitting on a plinth, glowing faintly. She walked over and peered at it cautiously; it was an ancient-looking ring. Feeling an unfamiliar sensation, she decided that she should probably take it with her. Yes, she was a little superstitious. She left the apartment quietly, having successfully completed her first kill as one of Rad’s assassins.
