I don’t have time to process my mother being in front of me one moment and gone the next as the vampires descend upon us.
‘I got this,’ Lilith growls in my head, and I feel her renewed strength, so I give her control. In seconds we shift and lunge at the vampires.
At our side is our two silver-coated mates. They, too, fight with renewed power. Within a second, my glorious black wolf has dispatched three vampires. I glance to my right to see Castor with Barabas’s head in his mouth. Within minutes most of the vampires are dead. I see Pollux approaching Richard.
“Please, no,” Richard pleads. “I didn’t want to do this.”
Pollux tackles my friend, and Richard screams.
‘Pollux, wait,’ I mind link him, run over and push Pollux off Richard.
Richard looks up at me, “Amber?”
