In Norway there is a large proportion of foreigners who have moved either because they were sheltered, war refugees, or other Europeans, such as Poles, Lithuanians and other western European countries have immigrated for better financial and working conditions. What Anya experienced was a mutual prejudice among Norwegians against immigrants. All kinds of discrimination and prejudice were not so easily discussed or exposed, because Norway's laws against racism and human rights are very strict.
