Throwing the covers off, she approached the window and looked out at the peaceful night. Some cars were driving by and she saw the lights on within some of the taller buildings toward downtown. Other than that, everything was quiet. Going back to bed, she propped the pillows against the headboard and leaned back, holding the dagger across her chest.
She was wide awake and apprehensive about the dream. In it, she had seen this city being overrun with demons and the city streets were splashed with the blood of humans.
