Charles contemplated Ellie's words over the next couple of days. He had no idea the elders even felt this way. Considering that Charles is older than any elders, he was extra surprised they spoke out about this. Charles half understood where they were coming from. He too wanted the world free of his daughter, but she is his first born, despite her dark choices, he still loved her. Groaning, Charles picked himself up out of his office and headed down to the council hall. He was going to need a good cover story to back up Isa. The Royal Academy is full of stock up royal children, who despise each other. Charles couldn't have Ava caught off guard. "Your Majesty, do you have a moment of time to talk?" Charles turned at the sound of her voice, almost ready to say no to her request until he noticed who was talking to him. "Ah Phia, you know I prefer it when you call me uncle. I was just looking for you." Phi a lifted her eyebrow at Charles, unsure why he of all people would be looking for her. "Have I done something wrong, Uncle?" "Heavens no, I just have a tiny favour to ask that's all. Are you free to talk?" "Of course Uncle, as long as I am able to make a request as well." Charles hesitated before nodding. Phia smiled brightly and Charles followed her down to her tiny office. Being the most disliked on the council for her views, has made Phia’s career on the council a living hell. But she was heavily loved by the people and the council could not afford to keep her seat empty. So they come up with childish antics, like turning a former broom closet into her office. Charles squeezed through the tiny door frame and stumbled into a large office. "What..." "Please don't tell Uncle, I'm aware of the rules with magic. Please sit." Charles spun in the large office before sitting in a large lounge chair off to the side. "How did you manage to sneak a witch in here?" "Ava did this." "Pardon?" "It was a very long time ago. Her magic is useless now. I'm just happy I got a glimpse of it before it disappeared. Now what did you want to talk about?" "I need a new identity for Ava. It seems she's outgrown her current one. I want to use your council's hate to get her into a boarding school." "Isn't she a little old to be in a boarding school?" "I've been given an alternative. I need time to decide if it's her or the entirety of the night race." "I will agree but only you can help me pass a new bill." "If it's your interspecies bill again, you know I will decline." "No it's not that. I want our kind to be safer in the human race, without fear of being seen. Wait." Phia excitedly pushed herself out of her chair, rushing to her desk to find the bill for Charles to read. ### Charles was surprised by how smoothly everything was running. Phia agreed to his cover for Ava, said something about owing her a favour but wouldn't elaborate. The last thing to deal with was Ebony. There I was a small knock on the study door, before Ebony stepped through. "You wanted to see me dad?" "Yes, sit. I'm sending you on your first assignment." "What? I thought you said I was too unstable for any assignment work." "Yes I'm aware. But I need you away from your sister. so sit, while I explain your job. Will you be alright with killing humans?" "Yes of course, but what's the catch?" "You will be required to attend a human boarding school." Ebony made a face and groaned, before slumping down in the leather chair in front of Charles' desk. Charles chuckled at her behaviour. Ebony is a witch over two thousand years old but she still acts like a child. "Well, this is your fault. You should have waited a couple more years for the child to grow before taking over her body. You leave in a few days." "Where is Ava going?" "She is going somewhere with more suitable security." "When will you start trusting her?" "When she stops killing her consorts." "why can't I go with her?" "I thought you didn't like her." "Daddy." "Enough Ebony. Do as your god damn told for once in your life. You might have been my daughter in law in your previous life, but you are my daughter now, and you will start acting like it." "Yes Sir, I' II start packing." "Good, take the box by the door on your way out." Charles pointed to the box filled with files and Ebony nodded. she mumbled a few nasty words to herself as she picked up the box and left. A few moments later, Ava appeared in the door frame. "Isa, come sit." "Is something wrong?" "Just sit down." Isa was terrified to be in here. Every time she is summoned to the study, it's followed by years of blackouts. This is where Charles performs his sleep spell. "I'm sending you away." "what? Why?" "I'm going away for a while, you will be safer in someone else's home." "Will Ebony be coming with me?" "No, I want her safe." "And is she safer without me?" "You attract trouble, Isa. It will be best for the both of you to be apart for a while." "When am I leaving?" "As soon as the sun sets. A driver will be going with you." "I see. I guess I should go pack then." "No need it's already been done for you.''
