**Frances; Before the blackout**
I looked away as soon as Dean caught me staring at her and Alex eyeing each other from across the room. Then I saw her girlfriend leave the executive's table, heading to the restroom.
"Do you want me to get us drinks?" She asked.
"I'm fine, excuse me." I don't know what came to me but I followed Alex without a care and no plan in mind.
