Report My Aśs

1707 Words
The next morning, the atmosphere in the Nexus Department was calm but productive. Everyone was focused on their tasks. Karen sat at her desk, meticulously reviewing documents, her brows furrowed in concentration. David was debugging his code, muttering under his breath whenever he spotted an error. Ren sat back in her chair, reading a report with a relaxed posture, while Rys lounged casually, arms crossed, waiting for the clock to strike the next hour. He had already completed his tasks for the day, as usual, ahead of everyone else. The tranquility of the department was interrupted by the arrival of Dexter, their team leader, holding a bouquet of flowers. His steps were confident as he approached Ren's desk, his grin a little too wide. "Good morning, Ren," Dexter said smoothly, handing her the bouquet. Ren looked up, slightly startled, and gave him a polite smile. "Good morning, Sir Dexter," she replied, accepting the flowers out of courtesy. Rys watched the exchange from his seat, his expression uninterested but his eyes sharp. He didn't move, waiting to see how Ren would handle the situation. Dexter leaned closer, his tone playful. "You know, these flowers reminded me of you—bright and beautiful." Ren blinked, caught off guard. However, she maintained her composure, offering a polite but firm response. "Thank you for the compliment, Sir, but I should let you know—I'm married." Dexter chuckled, his confidence unshaken. "Married? So what? It doesn't change the fact that you're stunning." He leaned in slightly as if to touch her face, but before his hand could move any closer, he froze. A chill ran down his spine, and an inexplicable sense of dread washed over him. Turning his head, he saw Rys watching him, a smile on his face, but there was something unsettling about his gaze. Dexter couldn't explain it, but the look made him feel as if he'd just stared into the eyes of a predator. "Team Leader," Rys said casually, his tone light yet carrying an undeniable edge. "It's work hours. Don't you think you should focus on tasks rather than flirting?" Dexter scoffed, stepping back. "Tch!" He turned on his heel and strode back to his office, muttering under his breath. Despite his bravado, he glanced over his shoulder a few times, unable to shake the feeling of that piercing gaze. Ren, meanwhile, tossed the flowers into the trash can without a second thought and resumed reading her report as if nothing had happened. .... When lunchtime came, the four colleagues gathered in the break area to eat. Each opened their lunch boxes, revealing their meals. "This is my wife's cooking," David announced proudly, holding up his neatly packed bento box. Inside were perfectly arranged sushi rolls, grilled salmon, and a small cup of fruit jelly. "She even wrote me a note: ‘Work hard, honey! Love you!'" Karen giggled. "That's sweet. My husband does something similar." She opened her own lunch box to reveal a hearty meal: fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli, with a smiley face drawn in ketchup on the chicken. "He always makes it fun, especially since he does this for our kids too." They both turned to Ren and Rys. "What about you two?" Karen asked. Before Ren could answer, Rys smirked mischievously. "Wifey, I think I forgot my lunch box today. Mind sharing with me?" Ren's fists clenched under the table. 'What do you mean you forgot? I packed it for you myself!' she thought, glaring at him. But before she could retort, David chimed in. "Aww, you two are so sweet!" Karen nodded in agreement. "It's normal for couples to share. That's adorable." Left with no choice, Ren sighed and opened her lunch box. "Fine," she muttered. "We can share." Rys's smirk grew wider. He reached for a spoon, scooped some food from the box, and held it out to Ren. "Here, wifey. Eat up." Ren froze, her cheeks burning. She glanced at David and Karen, who were watching with wide, amused smiles. With no escape, she reluctantly took the bite. "Is it good?" Rys asked, his tone gentle but teasing. Ren nodded stiffly. "It's… it's good." Satisfied, Rys fed her another bite. "Make sure you enjoy it," he said with a smile. Ren finally managed to blurt out, "Why aren't you eating?" Rys leaned back slightly, his smile turning softer. "Seeing you full makes me full, too." Ren's heart skipped a beat as her face turned crimson. David and Karen giggled, clearly enjoying the interaction. 'Damn you, Rys,' Ren thought, chewing her food while stealing a glance at his amused face. 'You really like messing with me!' As they continued eating, Karen glanced at Ren, noticing how much she was enjoying her food. Curious, she asked, "Ren, who cooked your lunch? You look like you're savoring every bite." Ren froze, her cheeks turning red as she hesitated. With a shy gesture, she pointed toward Rys. Karen's eyes lit up, and she let out a delighted squeal. "Aww, that's so sweet! No wonder you're enjoying it so much—it's made with love by your husband!" Ren's blush deepened as she avoided Karen's teasing gaze. Rys smirked, clearly enjoying the moment, and leaned closer to Ren. "Did you hear that, wifey? Karen can tell how much love I put into your lunch." Ren glared at him, but her flushed face betrayed her embarrassment. Karen giggled in delight while David shook his head, amused at the playful banter. Rys, still smirking, suddenly put down his spoon and turned his gaze to Ren, who had stopped eating. "What's wrong, wifey?" he asked casually. Ren glanced at him, confused. "What?" Rys tilted his head. "Are you full already?" Ren shook her head. "Not yet." "Then why aren't you eating? Your spoon is right there." His tone was teasing, and his eyes twinkled with mischief. Ren blinked, realizing she had indeed stopped eating. "What's that supposed to mean?" she snapped lightly, trying to cover her embarrassment. Rys leaned slightly closer, his smile turning sly. "Are you enjoying it when I serve you, my beloved wife?" Ren's face turned an even deeper shade of red. "Me?" she stammered, fumbling for words. Without thinking, she grabbed her spoon and quickly took another bite, trying to distract herself. Her thoughts raced as she chewed. 'Damn it! What are you thinking, Ren? Were you really waiting for him to feed you again? Stop it!' Rys, suppressing a laugh, gently reached out and took the spoon from her hand. "Easy there," he said softly before dabbing a tissue at the corner of her lips where some sauce had smeared. Ren froze as her head felt like it was going to explode from the sudden intimate gesture. "Drink some water," Rys added, handing her a bottle he pulled from his bag. As Ren accepted the water, Rys grinned and casually pulled out a lunch box from the same bag. "Oh, look what I found—my lunch box," he said, his tone mock-serious, before shooting her a playful grin. Ren's jaw dropped, her eyes narrowing in realization. 'He's been messing with me this whole time!' Steam might as well have been coming out of her ears as she glared at him. Rys chuckled, clearly entertained by her flustered reaction. Meanwhile, Karen and David, unable to hide their amusement, exchanged knowing smiles and shook their heads at the couple's antics. "Ren, you're so cute when you're mad," Rys teased again, leaning back in his chair with a satisfied smirk. Ren huffed, deciding to ignore him and focus on her food, but her pink cheeks and quick glances at Rys didn't go unnoticed. "Damn you, Rys," she muttered under her breath. 'Why do you always have to tease me like this?' Rys chuckled as he resumed eating, occasionally teasing Ren. Moments later, they finished their lunch. Just as they were wrapping up, Dexter entered the room holding a cup of coffee. He approached the group, though his intent was clearly focused on Ren. "Coffee? I'll need your report later," Dexter said smoothly, winking at her before walking back toward his office. Rys watched him go, a smirk playing on his lips. "Report my ass," he muttered sarcastically before turning to Ren. "You done with that report yet?" Ren nodded. "Almost. Just polishing up the final details," she replied. Rys nodded in acknowledgment. "I'll submit it for you," he said casually. Ren blinked, surprised. "Thank you," she said, grateful. Rys tilted his head with a teasing grin. "Why are you thanking me? Don't think I'm doing this just to help my wife, okay? I'm bored, that's all." "Rys!" Ren exclaimed, pouting at his teasing. He laughed, leaning back in his chair. "Fine, fine. You're right. Of course, I wouldn't let my wife get close to a guy like that." Ren huffed, crossing her arms with a little pout, though inwardly she felt a flicker of happiness at Rys' words. After lunch, they returned to their work. Rys, relaxed in his seat with nothing to do, occasionally glanced at Ren as she focused on finishing her report. After a while, Ren finally said, "I'm done. I just need to print the necessary documents." Rys nodded. "Send the rest to Dexter's email and make sure you print the essentials. Oh, and don't forget to create a backup." Ren nodded and followed his instructions. While transferring the files, she almost deleted them after sending them, but she remembered Rys' advice and saved a copy on her PC. Once the printing was complete, Rys stood up, grabbed the documents, and headed toward Dexter's office. Inside Dexter's office, the man was busy adjusting his appearance. He spritzed on some cologne, fixed his hair in the mirror, and smiled at his reflection. He was clearly preparing for what he thought would be Ren's arrival. When a knock sounded at his door, Dexter quickly straightened his posture, cleared his throat, and adjusted his tone. "Come in," he called, his voice smooth and inviting. As the door opened, his smile widened in anticipation. He caught sight of a high-heeled shoe stepping inside, but when his eyes moved up to see the face of the person entering, confusion clouded his features.
