Powerless To Resist Adam and the young man stared wide-eyed, their expressions starkly different. In the youth's gaze lingered a trace of fear, but it was quickly eclipsed by unrestrained elation. In contrast, Adam's eyes were filled with disbelief. He lowered his head to look at his chest, where crimson was rapidly blooming from the wound on his left side. "D*mn it..." he managed to utter, blood spilling from his mouth. Never had Adam imagined he would be attacked—shot from behind with no warning. The bullet had pierced straight through his chest, leaving him utterly defenseless. "Young Master Yan! Are you hurt? Did the others make it? You ran into a horde of zombies, didn't you?"
