The sounds of panic were louder than the roar of the monsters attacking us from above. The screams of woman, the cries of children. The yelling shouts of siren men trying desperately to find a way to defend themselves.
There was no way they could. In the ocean they had the advantage bit the council wasn’t dumb enough to attack by sea. No, they attacked from the air. From the one place the sirens couldn’t defend.
They were all going to get slaughtered.
All of them, every child, woman and man would lie dead on the beach by morning unless I did something.
“Get into the sea.” I heard Crystal scream. There was fear in her voice but not as much as there should have been. She should have been terrified and one look at her drawn face told me she was. she was just being brave.
