Dust floated in the air as Heaven brushed her hair from her face. She backed away from the corner where she’d stood with her sisters and Brooke. The wind settled, but the tension in the room doubled. It spun around her, making her heartbeat increase from the influx of energy.
Her steps came to a quick halt when a wall of warmth spread over her back. Dylan’s arms circled her waist as he and Layne joined her near the fireplace. Neither had a clue that their friend and fellow bandmate had caused the commotion. Layne stood at Heaven’s side, asking if she was okay at the same time Dylan leaned down to her ear.
