The hurt of a Billionaire!

1010 Words
Anu's POV: I was doing my work in the cafe as usual. "Anu order is ready for table number 5". I rushed to the kitchen and picked up the drinks and headed to serve the drinks. I was being very careful and walking steadily, but suddenly, I don't know what happened, a man collided with me, the drinks were all over his clothes and mine clothes too and I was in his arms. He was holding me so tightly as if his life depended on me. Being in his arms felt so familiar and right. But suddenly an unexpected thing happened. He rudely pushed me and called me a slut, b***h and started insulting me. These words were always used by my mother, so, I was used to it, but suddenly I felt a pang of pain in my chest and I felt betrayed when that man said to me that way. I felt my self-respect was ripped apart. And I did the only thing which felt right. I slapped him! Yes,I slapped him! Tears were threatening to fall off my eyes, so I rushed to the washroom and sat in a corner and cried my eyes out. I stayed there for a long period of time. I was continuously shivering and shaking thinking how could that person judge me in that way. After a while, I consoled myself for never crossing that person's path and being this weak again because my life is different from others. I have to fight for my existence and always fend for myself. I've got none to support me and I've been alone all the way through my life.So I stood up, washed my face and walked out of the washroom and started doing my work. It has been almost a week since that incident. I came to know that the person's name was "Ajey", he was Dadi's ( Grandma's) best friend's grandson. I don't know why, but from the day I slapped him he comes to the cafe daily with his brother and stares at me and smirks a dangerous smirk. I try to avoid him as much as possible and yes, I have succeeded too. Oh! I forgot to say; I met a sweet guy named "Sam". He regularly comes to our cafe and he is a student. He has that friendly aura. He respects me and talks sweetly with me. He is around my age. We also chat for a long period of time and talk about our days, life and every possible topic we get. He is also helping me with my college entry process. We are very close to each other, more like best friends. Today, I was busy cleaning the table but suddenly someone from behind closed my eyes suddenly. I was panicked. I heard a familiar laugh and suddenly knew it was Sam. I removed his hands from my eyes and smacked him on his shoulders. And he groaned, saying;" Ahh! It hurts how can you be so cruel Anu, I am here to surprise you and you are smacking me for no reason". I burst into laughter and told him to sit on a chair. I went to the kitchen to bring him his regular "Cafe Mocha" and sat across from him. He started to tell me about his day. Then he gave me the best surprise of my life. He took out an envelope from his bag and handed it to me. I was surprised and asked him what it was. He just smiled and told me to open it. I carefully opened the envelope and was surprised to see that I got an acceptance letter from one of the best universities in not only the nation but in the world that too, with a full 100% scholarship. I was finally going to study Computer Engineering at the "University of South Hampton" in the UK. Wooh! I was so overwhelmed that I stood up from my chair and hugged him tightly. I continuously hugged him and thanked him numerous times. He just gave me his genuine smile and said, You are like a sister figure to me. If my sister were here she would have been just like me. But I was confused. I had told him to apply to a public university here at a nearby cafe with affordable tuition fees so that I would be able to collect the tuition fees and work at the cafe at the same time. Sam saw my puzzlement and he ruffled my hair like a typical big brother and said," I know what you are thinking, but as soon as I saw your report cards and all your achievements in your old school, I couldn't stop myself from applying for an overseas university for you. Your knowledge will be limited here, so I applied to one of the best universities in the UK so that you will be able to get a respectable degree with a wide amount of knowledge. I also knew that you didn't have money, so I applied for a scholarship and guess what? You got a 100% scholarship along with your free flight tickets. But you will have to pay for accommodation. You can do part-time jobs for your accommodation fees and I trust you so much, my dear sister, and you will fight with every obstacles ahead". I was so happy to know that an unknown person in this unknown town was helping me. Tears welled up in my eyes and I hugged him more tightly and I hugged him. Sam went back after giving me that letter and I started doing my work. I was on cloud nine. I hadn't told anyone about my scholarship yet and not even to Dadi (Grandma) and Annanya. I know they are going to be happy for me but I'm going to give them a surprise tomorrow after tomorrow evening's party. I still can't believe that I will finally be escaping and living my dreams. Yes! Now I will be able to live my dreams.
