They said blindness made the world quieter.
Whoever said that had never been hunted in the dark.
The doctor’s prognosis was temporary. The flash grenade Victor’s men used during the ambush had scorched my corneas. They expected the inflammation to fade. They expected recovery.
What they didn’t expect was how calm I’d become without my sight.
Calm—not weak.
