Adrian

"She was dancing with some fucker at Lycan, and like hell, I was going to let that continue," a deep soothing voice spoke through the fog of unconsciousness. "I understand, Alpha, but this is still kidnapping. I wasn't that far away from her. Couldn't you have told me first so that I and Kat didn't freak out when we turned around to see her gone?" Jace's familiar voice said. What was going on? Why was Jace with my kidnapper? And what happened to Kat? A low growl filled my ears, causing my hear to race wildly. "She's mine though, and someone else was touching her!" The first voice said. If it didn't sound so angry, it would be so soothing to listen to. A warmth covered my hand, causing tingles to shoot up my arm. "I get it. But still, Kat is out there freaking out. I had to tell her far sooner than I would have liked about us and what she really is to me," Jace growled. "If I lose Kat because of this, I'll never forgive you, Adrian." Jace sounded so heartbroken just saying that. I wish I knew what was going on so I wasn't so scared. "Go comfort your mate, I need to comfort mine. And please, not a word yet about this. My mate must be terrified as it is. Clear out the pack house and let everyone know who she is." "Yes Alpha," Jace said before leaving. But I fell back deeper into the unconscious world before anything more could happen, the tingles being my only comfort as I did so. ~^-^~ The second time I woke up, it was to find a warm body next to mine, tingles shooting through my entire being, and fingers running through my hair. I groaned and tried to open my eyes, only to close them again after finding it too bright to see. "Oops, sorry Love, let me dim the lights for you," the warm body spoke before leaving my side. The lights dimmed to a simple low glow, allowing me to reopen my eyes. "Hello, beautiful," the voice spoke. I turned to find the man that took me from Lycan standing by the bed in a loose grey tank top and black sweats. Why the f**k did he have to look so good like that!? He was nicely tan, well-toned arms, with perfect messy copper brown hair that complimented his face structure nicely. He had a strong, sharp jawline and high cheekbones that were covered in just a few light freckles. If he wasn't my abductor, he would so be my type. "Where am I?" I whispered from my spot on the bed. He sighed before crawling up to join me. I quickly moved away, and off the bed. For the first time, noticing what I was wearing. It was an oversized white undershirt that was most likely his. "Who changed my clothes!?" I demanded in the midst of my panic. "Darling wait, let me explain." His look was that of desperation. "You better have a good f*****g reason for why you took me from that night club," I crossed my arms over my chest and tapped my foot in impatience. I glared at him for good measure. He looked upset, which surprisingly made me want to back down, but I couldn't. That's what he wants, I just know it. "That man at the club was all over you, I just... I couldn't stand him touching you-" "You don't even know me," I said, cutting off his explanation. He sighed and ran a hand down his face. "I know, but, you have to trust me. My... People, they aren't like yours. We get like that when we find our soulmate." Soulmate? I scoffed. He flinched. "I know this is hard to believe, but I wasn't in control of myself last night." It looked like he wanted to say more, but cut himself off. "f**k that cultist bullshit, let me go home." He smiled sadly up at me and called to the edge of the bed, throwing his feet over the side. His long arms wrapped around my waist before I could back up further and he buried his face in my stomach. "I can't do that. You're mine, my love." I tried to pull away from him, but he was far stronger than I was. That's when I got pissed instead of scared. "Excuse you!?" I scoffed. "I am not some object that you can just claim. I am not yours, I am not your love, your beauty, your darling, or anything for that matter!" I finally pulled away and tried to head to the door that was on the other side of the room. But he grabbed my wrist before I could do that. "Please don't go," he begged in a whisper. I wrenched my wrist free from his hold. His face turned to one of hurt. "I need to go home," I told him. "I have friends, I have a life, I have school that I still need to finish!" He doesn't even know if I was dating someone. Not that I am, but he doesn't know that. "You can still have all that, but I can't let you go. You're my soulmate." I groaned trying desperately to ignore the tingles that spread through my hand simply from him touching me. I pulled away and reached for the door, only to find it locked. I looked back at the man and gave him a hurt and desperate look of my own. "I'm sorry darling, but I told I can't let you go." Tears stung my eyes as I begged him silently to free me. He stood up and walked towards me. He hugged me and kissed the top of my head. He walked past me towards the door, unlocked it, and relocked it after he left. I broke down after the mysterious man left. I curled up leaning up against the door and sobbed. I don't know how long I sat there for. Soon, my crying was interrupted by a soft knock on the door and the lock turning. "Jeez, I don't know why Adrian locked the door on you." An unfamiliar female voice said. I jumped up and away from her. She carried a tray of food. Her smile was friendly and her dark hair resembled the same color as the man who took me. Adrian. The name sent flutters through my stomach. "Oops, didn't mean to scare ya," she said with a wink. "I'm Gwen, I'm Adrian's younger sister." I groaned. "Then you're in on this abduction?" I don't know what made me say it, but I did. Her eyes widened before she growled. She placed the food down on the bed a bit rougher than she probably wanted to, before storming out, dragging me behind her. The hall was eggshell white with different pictures of Adrian, his sister, parents, and friends. I would have paused at one that looked like Jace was in it but was pulled along before I could get a decent enough look. We went down one flight of stairs into an amazing open floor plan that looked like it was a Google stock image of the inside of a mansion. The bright open room had several people milling about. Some were in the little living area watching TV. They all stopped talking and looked at us as we bypassed the living room and towards the back of the house. There were two oak doors near each other, one with gold letters that spelled out ALPHA, and the other, in silver, spelled out BETA. The mysterious sister of Adrian pounded on the door of the door labeled alpha before barging in without waiting for a response. Adrian looked surprised when we burst through his door. It was a large office space with a dark mahogany desk with stacks of paperwork on top. There was also a tall and wide bookshelf behind him, some books not even labeled along the spines. And those that were didn't even have a dust cover. The book worm in me wanted to go over there and just crack one of those bad boys open and just smell them. I looked at the books longingly before Adrian's sister spoke up. "Abduction, Adrian? Seriously?" She yelled. "Gwendolyn, what is the meaning of this? You come into my office while I'm working just to yell at me?" He stood up. That's when I noticed what he was wearing. It was a crisp grey three-piece suit and black tie. He ran his fingers through his soft looking hair and removed his jacket, draping it over the back of his office chair. "When I heard you found your mate, I didn't expect to find her scared and crying on the floor of your guest bedroom, Adrian. Then I hear you abducted her?" She crossed her arms over her chest. Which I can rightly say, I was jealous of. She couldn't have been older than me, but she was definitely bustier. "Gwen, you don't understand. Now take my mate back upstairs before we both say something that we will regret." Gwen sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Adrian, I am this close to smacking you," she said, her fingers touching on the hand that she held up. He looked confused before she smacked him upside the head. He barely moved but he growled at her. She growled right back. "What's with all the f*****g growling? Are your animals or something!" I groaned as I sank into one of the chairs in front of Adrian's desk. "And what's with this whole 'Mate' business?" "You didn't even tell her!?"
