Everything that happened was a blur to the three teenagers. A familiar green forcefield was shielding them. Larcade who didn’t know was raising his arms as if stopping Alex, was emitting a vibrant green aura. His aura was beautiful.
“Fireflies?” Neveah muttered under her breath when she saw the green aura surrounding Larcade. Alex was unable to stop himself from hitting the forcefield. The impact made him fly off the ground.
“Lar?” Before Neveah can finish her sentence, and before Larcade can understand what was happening, the aura and the forcefield were gone instantly. The three of them stared at Larcade’s hands. “What just happened?” Lucas and Neveah said in unison.
A slight pain was felt in Larcade’s right chest. He clutches it. A throbbing heartbeat was heard on Larcade’s right chest. This made Larcade confused. He was having a mental crisis. Suddenly, an ominous aura was felt not so far from them.
Alex got up, his magic aura surrounding the three as if locking them up. A raven-colored smoke emits Alex. He snickered, which made the three flinch and let their guard up. Alex combed his ruined hair. He adjusted and wiped the dust off his now dirty clothes because of rolling on the ground.
“This makes me feel aroused,” Alex said, smirking confidently. Neveah, Lucas, and Larcade froze at what he said. Alex saw their expression and was also confused. The three panned their eyes between Alex's leg before going back to his face.
“Not like that you imbeciles!” Alex's face flushed with embarrassment while covering his below. The three just stayed there staring at him. ‘Then why the hell did you choose that choice of word?’ The three thought at the same time.
Alex's magic aura becomes heavy. Lucas felt the heaviness around him and made him nauseous. ‘What the hell is this?’ He slightly crouched down. A faint foul smell invades his nose and he immediately covers it.
“Lucas?” Larcade asked and gently placed his hands on Lucas’s back. Neveah stared at Alex. His hands were now surrounded by some sort of weapon that is made out of metal. Lucas’s breath was slowly increasing. He felt hot inside of him and he didn’t know why. The moment he smells the foul stench coming from Alex, his body becomes warm. His sweats were now dripping on his forehead. Larcade watches as Lucas struggles to regain his composure. Neveah widened his eyes when Alex dashed to them.
“Larcade!”
Neveah instantly covers up Larcade. Neveah closed her eyes waiting for Alex’s impact. But a seconds pass nothing happened. He peek through her closed eyes and saw the familiar green forcefield again. Larcade was raising his hands behind him.
“Don’t even think of hurting her.” Larcade’s voice was deep and ominous
Neveah panned her head to Larcade. She notices one of his eyes was emitting a vibrant green hue in his eyes. Larcade was pushing himself. He didn't know how to control the power that was in him. He somehow forces it again. His desire to protect his friends was the driving force for his power to appear again. Larcade was surprised at himself. His idea of magic ability was low that he was in major disbelief to make it appear again.
Alex widens his eyes on Larcade’s current appearance. The green hues that are swirling in one of his eyes made him shiver. ‘He’s powerful’ He thought for a second. Larcade’s expression was serious. His eyebrows clashed together like waves. His eyes filled with rage thrown at Alex. His expression and actions stimulate Alexander more.
He hardens his metal once again. He raised his arms and bangs at Larcade’s shield. ‘He’s powerful but it’s obvious he’s not used to it.’ Alex was observing Larcade since the beginning and he immediately come up with his speculation. Larcade has a powerful magical ability yet he doesn’t have any experience or knowledge on how to use it. The advantage goes to Alex.
Alex continues to make his way into the force field. And as every hit he does, Larcade was pushed back. His magic power slowly decreased. Using it with force doesn’t help him in his current situation but it was the only one Larcade can think of doing it. Neveah and Larcade backed slowly while Alex’s forward. Neveah pulled Lucas who was still focus on regaining his composure.
“Lucas it’s no time to break down,” Neveah stated. Larcade and her were able to successfully dodge when Alex swing his arms. Neveah pulled Lucas again almost wanting to leave him be.
“Lucas! Snapped out of it!” Neveah continues to pull Lucas as they continue to dodge every attack Alex made. Lucas’s sudden wariness in his body was unable him to move. He was trying to ignore it but the pain was so immense that he can’t do anything.
“Lucas!” He was awoken because of Neveah’s cries. All three of them were cornered by a large tree. Neveah slapped Lucas’s cheeks, left and right. When Lucas focused his eyes on Neveah, she suddenly cupped both Lucas's checks and then---
BAM!
Neveah hit both of their foreheads. Both Lucas and her wince and groan in pain touching their heads.
“What the heck, Neveah?!” Lucas shouted annoyed at Neveah’s face. He touches his throbbing forehead. Neveah also did the same grumble in pain.
“You were becoming a bother! I can’t save my life if I’m always dragging your slow ass!” Lucas realized their situation. He panned his head to Larcade who was struggling to maintain the force field. Larcade’s face was flushed and his sweat trickled down his face. He watches and stares at Larcade’s face. It was laced with determination. Even if he was suffering, he was still being stubborn to protect his friends.
Lucas remembers what Larcade said a while ago. “Why don’t you just stay out of it?”. He would if you would ask him but seeing Larcade’s expression made him fight back his urge to give up. Something ignited inside Lucas as he watches Larcade fighting.
Neveah’s jaw dropped when a small fire appear on Lucas’s hands. “Dude!” She alerted Lucas. She shook his body and pointed out to his hands. Lucas shriek in surprise as he watches his hands burn. He frantically swings his arms to let the fire down and even blow it. Neveah also helps him put out the fire. Suddenly, Lucas realized something. The fire was igniting in his hands yet he didn’t feel any pain. His hands were not burned. He was completely fine that made him baffled. Silence filled his entire sense but Neveah was the one who broke it by asking
“You’re burning!"
