14-a perfect day for an execution

Seth looked up at the clear sky and the bright sun. It was a great summer day with a light breeze. A perfect day for an execution, he thought and smiled. He was looking forward to geting rid of his awful cousin. His pack would be clearer after his death and hopefully his poor wife would get a second-chance mate that would treat her better than that a**hole, Jared did. He had noticed some marks on her arms at times that she was desperatelly trying to hide and her eyes were always puffy from crying. Jared's death would be beneficial to everyone.

Plus, he would take his revenge for attacking Naysha. He couldn't get the image of her beautiful body laying lifeless on the ground when she had fainted out of his head. He had switched back into his human form imediately after killing that wolf and brought her to her room for the second time yesterday.

She was so beautiful under the light of the blood moon that made her skin look golden, with her loose curls flowing on her back, looking like the Moon Godess herself. Self-control seemed impossible around her. And that tiny little nightgown she was wearing was so transparent under the moonlight, he could just eat her up. He hoped she would still be wearing the same when he would visit her later to check if she was feeling better. Afterall, he was feeling guilty for spiking her drink and risking her life. But no, he had to get these thoughts out of his mind. He had to find a way to keep his hands to himself around her. He had to find a way to deny her.

"What's up, Alpha? I heard you asked to see me", Jared's voice distracted him from his thoughts as his cousin was walking towards him. Callen and Lucas were following him discretely. The scumbag had a big smile that didn't resch his eyes.

"I need to talk to you about something." His serious tone was quick to erase Jared's smile from his lips. "There was an attack last night, here in the garden. You have probably heard about it already", he continued.

Jared nodded. There was an evil spark in his eyes that was making Seth want to punch him. "I heard. Someone attacked the human friend of our princess". There was something in the way that he pronounced the word friend. He definitely knew about Naysha.

"I asked my Beta to investigate the matter a few hours ago. We now know who that wolf was."

Jared nodded again. "Congrats, Callen! You're quite the detective!" he joked clapping his hands dramatically while staring at Callen with a smirk.

"But I must admit that I'm confused, Alpha. Since you know who that wolf was, what could I posibly help you with? Because you personally took care of his punishment" he added, making sure that Seth would get the hint.

"I'll cut right to it. You were seen talking to that wolf yesterday outside the palace, just hours before the celebration. I need to know why". Seth's face remained expressionless, while Jared looked clearly shocked.

"I..he asked me for some money. I pittied him, he looked like a mess, reeking of booze. I pulled him aside to give him some coins, that's it." He explained with a fake calm voice.

"Why there? Where neither the cameras nor the patrol can see you?"

Jared was now pale as a sheet. He was definitely not expecting this turn of events. He probably thought that he wasn't even suspected of anything. "I was patroling there. I wanted to make sure that no one was hidding there, patiently waiting for the celebration to begin and take advantage of ir in order to attack. But I only found that beggar. I gave him the money and commanded him to go away".

Lucas and Callen exchanged a look of disbelief. Seth also didn't believe him. He knew his cousin and he never cared that much about anything regarding the pack and its security. He only wanted the power of being Alpha, not the responsibilities that came with it.

"I don't believe you. You plotted against the safety and harmony of our pack and set an innocent in danger. Therefore, dear cousin, I sentence you to death" he said in a cold tone with an evil smile on his face. As soon as his verdict was announced, Lucas and Callen grabbed Jared by his arms and held him still. He looked like he had seen a ghost, shaking violently as he was trying to break free and escape.

"You're lying, Seth! You were always svared of me, because you know that i would make a better Alpha! Plus, I know your little secret!" Jared yelled as he was struggling to free himself from the men's hold.

Seth kept smilling as he got just inches away from Jared's face. "See you in hell, cousin", he whispered as he reached his hand towards the man's chest. His claws were out and his eyes had turned black when he clawed Jared's heart out of his chest. His screams of agony before his body fell lifeless on the ground filled his ears. But he didn't care.

"Throw his body in the forest and let his wife know that she's been freed from this monster. Today our pack has been also set free from the danger that this man was opposing. Today is also the day when, for the first time, I break our tradition. I declare that, from now on, Lucas is going to be my new Gamma". He said as he wipped his bloody hands on a towel that Callen handed him.
