Chapter Fifty-one Austin moistened his parched throat in a bid to let the words that were trapped in his mouth come out, but to his surprise, he said nothing. Instead, his lips pressed into a firm line and watched Diane's frame disappear out of sight. Her words reverberated in his ears, and they submerged his heart as light engulfs darkness. Her words pierced his heart like a bullet and Austin shut his eyes, feeling hurt. Despite feeling hurt by her words, he was at least glad that she didn't run out of his house.
