Atlas's POV The relief that moved through the room when Ava woke up was collective and immediate. Most of the room, anyway. We filed back out to the lobby at her request, and Adam chose that exact moment to portal in. "Show her to me," he said. He was the last person I wanted near Ava. I told myself it was guilt — that she had been hurt because of me and I felt responsible. That was part of it. The part I was less willing to examine was that she looked disturbingly like Sorena, and I could see exactly what was going to happen in Adam's head the moment his eyes landed on her.
