“What the hell are you doing in my office?” Jace growled, rising from his chair.
And there she was…
Roxanne.
The one woman he wished he’d never touched... but couldn’t stop thinking about.
She stood there in a tight white dress, short enough to tease, low enough to reveal just enough of her soft curves. His eyes traveled slowly from her bare legs up to the curve of her chest.
He swallowed, hard.
“I want you to leave,” he said, voice rough.
Roxanne smirked, stepping closer. “Are you sure about that?”
He tried to stay firm, but his eyes said otherwise. His body remembered. Every second of their hot, wild s*x together played in his head like fire.
“Are you really sure you want me gone?” she whispered, closing the space between them.
She bit her bottom lip…slow, deliberate. Her fingers slid gently across her chest, grazing her breast like she knew exactly what drove him crazy.
Jace stiffened. She was danger wrapped in silk.
A devil in heels.
And he was already burning.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Jace asked, stepping back, as if putting space between them would cool the fire already building inside him.
Roxanne didn’t answer. She just smirked, pressing a finger gently to his lips.
“Shh…”
That one touch sent a jolt through him.
His body betrayed him. He was already hard.
The memory of how she felt under him, how she moaned his name, came rushing back like a wave.
He could f**ck her right there, right now.
But could he really let himself fall again?
Roxanne leaned in, her voice soft and sweet. “Oh, Jace… you know you can’t run from me. You’ve tried ignoring my calls, shutting me out… but deep down, you still want me.”
Her lips brushed his ear. “You always have.”
“You’re mine.”
Jace clenched his jaw, trying to hold on to control.
“Take your hands off me… and get out,” he said firmly, avoiding her eyes.
Those dangerous, tempting eyes.
“I don’t want to go hard on you,” he warned.
But Roxanne only smiled, her hand curling around his tie, pulling him closer.
“Oh, baby…” she whispered, voice dripping with desire. “Please… hurt me. I want it harder than last time.”
Roxanne always had something to say—like she knew exactly how to push his buttons. A woman like her was a storm, the kind not everyone could walk away from.
“You’re losing it,” Jace muttered, shoving her gently to the side.
He walked past her, trying to stay strong, trying to escape the heat of her presence.
But she grabbed him from behind, locking her arms around his waist like she belonged there.
Her touch sent a shiver straight down his spine.
He hated how easily his body remembered her.
The nights. The passion. The way they once fit together so perfectly.
But to Jace, that was the past.
“It’s over,” he said, his voice tight. “Why are you doing this? Is it really worth it?”
Roxanne’s voice softened, but the fire was still there. “All I want is you, Jace. I won’t stop. I can’t.”
Jace’s eyes narrowed. “The son you never let me see?”
He pulled her hands off him and turned to face her fully.
But just as he opened his mouth to speak, the door suddenly swung open.
Before he could react, Roxanne reached up, cupped his face—and kissed him.
Deep. Slow. Intentional.
Jace froze.
“What the hell is going on here?”
The voice snapped Jace out of it.
He pulled away from Roxanne instantly, his heart pounding.
Standing at the door, eyes wide with shock and pain was Elena.
Her gaze locked on them, frozen in place.
Jace’s chest tightened. “Elena…”
Roxanne slowly turned, a sly smile creeping across her lips. “Oh… I didn’t realize we had company.”
Elena’s eyes darkened, but her voice stayed calm—too calm. “I see you’re busy.”
“Elena, it’s not what it looks like,” Jace said, taking a step forward.
She raised a hand to stop him, her eyes never leaving his.
“Save it.”
Her voice cracked just slightly, but she held it together.
“I didn’t come here for an explanation,” she added coldly. “I came to drop off the divorce papers.”
The room went still.
Roxanne’s smirk faded.
Jace stood frozen.
“Elena, please…” he started.
Just as Elena turned to leave, the door opened again. And this time, it was her brother, Rick.
He stepped in, confused by the tense atmosphere.
But the moment his eyes landed on Roxanne, he froze.
His jaw tightened. His eyes widened.
“R-Roxanne?” he muttered under his breath.
She was standing dangerously close to Jace. Too close.
“What the hell is she doing here?” he thought, his heart racing.
Roxanne's eyes flicked toward Rick. For a second, she looked just as shocked.
But she quickly masked it, trying to keep her cool like nothing was wrong.
Still, the tension between them sparked something deeper. Something unspoken.
Elena glanced between them, sensing something strange.
What was Roxanne’s connection to Rick?
And why did he look like he'd just seen a ghost?
Without saying a word, Elena stormed out of the office.
Rick rushed after her.
He had just returned from a long trip when he heard about the problems between Elena and her husband.
Worried, he tried to talk her down. Told her to slow down, think things through. Maybe, just maybe, things could still work out.
But Elena had made up her mind.
The divorce papers were already in her hands, and she was heading straight to Jace’s office.
Rick rushed after her, hoping to stop her from her actions.
But sadly, they showed up at the worst possible moment.
Jace hurried after Elena, desperate to stop her. To beg. To ask for forgiveness.
But would it even make a difference now?
“Damn it!” Roxanne hissed, clenching her jaw.
“Elena and Rick are siblings? No… this can’t be. I can't believe this…”
She paced, then stopped.
“I won’t let him get in my way. Not now. Not ever.”
