LEO'S POV: 'MOTHERF*CKER THAT HURTS!!' I gritted my teeth, hissing in pain as Marnie applied cream on my bruises. She nagged at me and smacked me behind my head, going off about nursing ten more students that came in here earlier and about not being careful. I gave her my charming smile, at which she scoffed at, which I feigned hurt. She smacked my arm, but announced that she wasaa done. I sighed in relief, letting my shirt down before standing up. I thanked Marnie with a kiss on her cheek as she handed me my phone which was buzzing. "Come home. There's something we need to tell you. Your sister's here too. I've already informed your teachers and the principal about your early leave. Don't be late." My father spoke in one breath, not giving me a chance to speak then promptly hung up. I rolled my eyes before making my way out of the clinic and towards my locker. The hallway was empty because class began ten minutes ago. I grabbed my bag and carefully slung it over my good shoulder but winced as pain shot through my spine. 'F*cking Laswell! His kick was f**king strong.' After my Chemistry teacher dismissed me, he wanted to talk about my recent test I failed at, I went to the empty cafeteria and rested there before heading to the clinic. I ate the food my nanny made for me and went to read in advance about the next topic we would be discussing in History. I bumped into Jace a while ago while he was on yhe way back to class from the bathroom and asked if we would be having practice later. He told me no and after that he hasn't the rest of the team. Not even during lunch. Which was, admittedly, very strange.  I jogged lightly through the parking lot and slid into my car and promptly drove out of the lot and into the busy highway. My school was only less than twenty minutes away from the subdivision and upon arriving, I came out to see a red Lamborghini in the driveway, indicating that my older sister is indeed here. I greeted the guards who stopped and regarded me with a nod and stepped into the open doors, our butler- Simon -took my coat while Martha insisted on taking my bag. I noticed her eyeing suspiciously the hand I was using to clutch my ribs but she said nothing and walked away. I made my way to the living room, pausing to toe off my shoes that was quickly swooped away by one of our maids. I plopped down on the couch opposite of my father and mother who were looking at me, mother regarding me with a smile of which I returned before turning towards my sister perched on the opposite end of the couch. She was currently wolfing down on a cupcake, no doubt baked by Martha, but she smiled at me and I returned it. I then gave my full attention to my father, leaning back on the couch, sighing quietly. "You needed to talk to me father?" "Yes. I just wanted to tell that Valerie, your mother and I will be going overseas for a client and his family. We won't be back for at least a week or so. I wanted to know if you can handle being left alone. Martha will also be on three weeks leave because her daughter was rushed to the hospital after an accident had occured during their field trip. Now, will you be alright staying home alone?" He quirked a brow and I nodded, smiling slightly. But inwardly, I was a bit sad for they were leaving me again. I'm still in school whereas my sister graduated from the most prestigious law school four years ago. "Use your words son." "Yes father." He nodded. "Good. I thought I need to hire a babysitter for you again due to that incident last year. I'm still a bit uncertain to leave you here alone without company." I groaned slightly at the reminder while my sister laughed softly beside me. "No father. I promise it won't happen again." He sighed, eyeing me in slight distrust but nodded.  "Alright. Go to your room and study. Martha will call us when dinner is served. You won't be present tomorrow, well, not at your first and second period because you'll be seeing us off at the airport. I made a compromise with the principal, promising that after lunch, you'll be there for the rest of the day. But if you arrived earlier than that, it would be better." "Do you need Martha to leave you a meal before she leaves?" I shook my head. "No father. I can make my own meal." He nodded and with that settled, he stood up and walked back to his office. Mom kissed my cheek, ruffling my hair before rushing back to her office as well, answering her phone. "Are you alright little bro?" I turned to my sister who resembled that of a chipmunk due to her full cheeks. Chuckling, I shook my head and kissed her cheek. Apparently, she found my response satisfying because she rushed off to the kitchen to get some more cupcake. I shook my head, my sister was a bit of an addict. Especially when it comes to desserts.  I retired to my room and took a nice, long awaited shower and changed into comfortable clothes. I also reapplied the cream for my bruise that turned a darker shade of purple. I went to do my homework to pass the time and just as I capped my pen, Martha came knocking, informing me dinner has been served. My sister was the last one to arrive, her stumbling a bit then plopped down on the seat with a giggle. Father sighed, shaking his head in amusement. When we were done, we retired to our rooms, me so I could sleep early while they could get started on packing. •••••••••••••••••• Morning came by, I woke up five seconds before my alarm and quickly showered and changed into black jeans, a blue long sleeve shirt and layered it with my black leather jacket. Breakfast was quick and soon we entered my father's limousine and made our way to the airport. Their luggage was carted off to the plane and while an attendant announced the departure for New York, Valerie turned to give a tight hug, one of which I gladly returned. "Stay alive brother." I laughed, "Leave some buffet for the guests huh?" She playfully punched my stomach before mom stepped forward. She squished my cheeks whereas I gave her a hug. She rose her hands and signed. "Stay safe darling." I nodded before turning to my father. We exchanged nods and with that, they turned and boarded their plane, Val waving back at me like a child. I watched as their plane slowly took off and faded inti the distance before returning home alone. When I chekced the time, second period has just begun so I still have time to freshen up. And watch a movie. Upon arrival at school, I jogged through the doors and stopped by my locker, glamcing at my watch to find I have eight minutes to spare. My next class was Chemistry so I waited by my locker. At least I'm already in school before lunch break. I know the Principal has seen me since there were cameras out in the hallways. When the bell finally rang, students came filing out. A hand clamped on my shoulder, I turned, grinning to see Jace whose hair was mysteriously tousled. No doubt it was a result from one of his girls. "Hey man! Just arrived?" "Yup. My family just left." I crossed my arms, smirking when one of the cheerleaders sent me a wink over her shouder. "I'm all alone in a big empty mansion." "That is, if you want to attend a party tomorrow night. I'm sure the house won't be empty anymore." He waggled his brows suggestively while I laughed. Sometimes, when my family is out of town, Jace visits me to play games or simply hang out. And sometimes, he brings a couple of guests with him. And whenever there waa a party, I would being home a girl. Or a boy. Never mind if they're from our school or from another. Yeah. I'm bisexual. But no one knows that. Not even Jace. Or my parents and sister. I had two ex boyfriends but I'm not in the mood to talk about it. Let's just say, it was terrible. Really terrible. It's not that I don't trust Jace to keep it a secret, if need be, it's just-......the last time I told a friend, they tried to out me to my team. But that backfired and he was accused of trying to turn everybody on me and instead, he was the one thought to be gay. After weeks of being tormented, he transferred to another school. Jace and I chatted for a bit then the rest of our team came and joined. I took note of Jace's sudden silence the second they arrived. Confused, I frowned at his odd behavior of glaring at our teammates while they weren't looking. While everyone else was joking around, I scooted up beside Jace. "What's wrong? Why are you glaring at them like they murdered your kitty?" "Didn't you know?" I raised my eyebrows as he pushed off the lockers, eyeing the boys before speaking above a whisper. "The guys weren't  present for the rest of the classes yesterday. It was after you left that I called Vic. They told me that they were at an alley, one that was near Laswell's house. I need not to ask what they were going to do if I already knew and Vic even tried to convince me to cut classes to join them. I declined, of course, because my gramzy would have my balls if I should ever decide to cut class and he just hung up." I vaguely registered my hands clenched tightly as I stared wide eyed at my friend. "They waited for him Leo. They beat him up and left. Though, we can see that Chris clearly gave one h*ll of a fight." We turned to our teammates who all had bandages on their wrists, neck and parts of their faces. I smirked, satisfied at their current appearance. Especially Diggs and Victor. "Leo. You weren't there right?" "No man. I was at home helping my parents pack. After my visit to the Marnie, Dad called me and told me to come home." Jace sighed, relieved. "Good. I don't have anything against the guy, but since he defeated and completely humiliated them yesterday, it's onvious they're gonna want revenge." I gnawed at my lip, alternately glancing between the doors and through the hallway, half consciously searching for a certain man with dark brown hair and a tall stature. "Have you seen him?" "No. I don't have classes with him. Just P.E. and History. But I know he's here. His bike's outside." I nodded just as the bell rang. Jace patted his bag and pushed off the lockers. It was a bit of a shock to find Chris had a bike. And it wasn't the cheap kind too. Maybe he has a job or his dad bought it for him. "See ya in Music class Leo!" "Yeah!" I waved at Jace and the rest of the team who scattered off. I know we never treated him right, that would be an understatement, especially me, but never, not once did I lay a hand on him. I mean, i just shoved him and threw things at him but I never used my fist. I mean, we-....I-.....I know that it may not seem like it but I just didn't have the heart to. Whenever they do beat him up, I never took part in it and neither does Jace. H*ll, Jace has never beaten Chris up nor called him names, more like, flirted with him once but that's it. I'm just one of those people who stood by the sidelines and watched. I know, I'm such a coward. I should've done something, but I just can't. In all honesty, I regretted those times Chris would be cornered while Jace and I turn away. I stopped, staring at my hands as I unclenched them. 'Why did I feel anger when I heard they beat Chris again?' I scoffed at myself and at my thoughts. Of course I know the answer to that. I shook my head and cursed upon realizing that I was the only one in the hallway. Just as I reached my classroom, my hand hovered above the doorknob, I watched frozen as a familiar dark browned beauty walk out of a classroom and strode towards a bathroom. 'Wait a minute. What did I just call Chris? Beauty?'  I shook my head, flushing slightly. I looked at my classroom door and to the direction Chris disappeared to. I sighed, quietly making way towards the bathroom he went into. Slowly, I oushed the door open, grateful that it didn't make any creaking noise to alert the person currently occupying the bathroom. When I had Chris in view, I stopped and stared at his reflection. Squinting, I bit my lip to prevent a gasp at the sight of a blackish bruise decorating one side of his face. His arms too were littered with them, his neck and his lip was busted. I noticed that he was limping and gritted my teeth, angry at Diggs and the rest of the team. But my anger was cut short as Chris suddenly yanked his shirt over his head.  'Holy wow. He has a delicious body. And he's-......' My thoughts trailed off as well, completely shocked at the sight before me. I was overwhelmed, horror-struck andmd unable prevent myself, this time, from gasping. "What the hel-?!"
