After the coffee disaster with Nathan, I hadn't seen him around. Not during lunch, or during dinner. It was as if he had purposefully made himself scarce. Could he be? Even the thought of it was like a shock to my system.
I looked at the four men at the dining table. And the one man I wanted to see, I needed to see was not there at all.
When the dinner was over, I quickly excused myself and walked to the garden, enjoying the softly glowing flowers in the garden. The night was thick and the air was chilly. I pulled my jacket around myself as I leaned against the tall tree, staring at the distant moon.
