Kate lay motionless on her bed, just as she had every day since she left the hospital.
But today, she felt more dead inside. She's feeling tired. Each breath was heavier than the last.
She didn't want to keep going. She had lost every desire to live. There was nothing left worth holding on to.
Her father has gone…her mother too.
Then her baby had left her as well.
It was the end of the road.
Maybe she would finally see them again when she leaves this world.
Summoning what little strength she had left, Kate lifted her exhausted body from the bed. She dragged her trembling legs to the bathroom.
She filled the tub, took her clothes off, and slowly lowered herself into the water. Closing her tired eyes, she let herself sink into stillness.
