Stella was nursing Hope when she heard a soft knock on the door. She adjusted her top as Dave and a little boy stepped inside.
A warm flush crept across her cheeks.
“Hello, Stella. Congratulations on your baby,” Dave said, placing a bouquet on the table.
“This is from Liam and me," he gently ruffled the shy boy's hair.
“Thank you both. Hello Liam,” Stella said with a soft smile.
The boy glanced up at her, then at the baby.
“Hello… Can I see her?”
“Of course,” Stella replied.
Baby Hope had already fallen asleep, Stella buttoned her pajama top, and lifted the newborn, so Liam could see.
