Leila grabbed the phone, but it slipped from her grasp and crashed to the floor. Her heart beat against her chest as she retrieved it, ignoring the new cracks on the screen. Setting it back on the desk, she forced her lips into a smile. Lily threw a worried glance at her. “Are you okay?” “Yeah.” When that didn’t assure Lily, she murmured, “I think the pressure of the new role is getting to me.
