Julia’s POV
I heard an ear piercing scream from upstairs. My heart stopped for a second before adrenaline kicked in, propelling me up the grand staircase two steps at a time. My heels clack against the marble, echoing through the hall.
"Lilian!" I shouted, fear gripping my throat. Her scream echoed in my ears as I reached the top of the stairs. I bursted into the guest room where Lilian’s scream came from, my breath catching in my chest.
There, suspended from the chandelier, was a figure. The rope seemed taut, digging into their neck. My mind raced and for a moment, everything felt surreal, like I’ve stepped into a nightmare.
Nothing prepared me for the sight that I stumbled on. My breath got hitched as I tried to process the scary sight before me.
