Monday morning talk left me troubled and confused. They say Rondel Collins, the black nineteen-year-old we think of as the one who killed Ginny Gunderson right here in Chisolm on Saturday night, was cornered in a barn way down in Alabama. We didn’t know his name until Ginny hit the news. The latest word is that Collins holed himself up in one of the barn’s stalls. The police shot in self-defense because they didn’t know what he’d do when he didn’t come out with his hands in the air.
