Harley's P.O.V 'Life wasn't so bad before, it was terrible. I miss her, so much has happened. I was only a pup, with nowhere to go and no one to trust. I'll forever be in debt to her. Never in my life did I think someone would take care of me like that. I thank the goddess for her.' I hope it lasts. It's kinda amazing to me how I've lived sometimes. "Enough with the pity party Harley, get it together". I tried to shake myself out of it. Who am I kidding though? It just hurts thinking about everything I've encountered so far. It's funny sometimes. Just in time to burst my bubble are footsteps that are coming my way. Kassidy., of course. I like her. "Hey Harley, can I come in?" "Yeah sure" She had a plate of delicious food in her hands. She approached me with that warm smile of hers as she handed the plate to me. Goddess knows I'm famished! "Here ya go sis, I know the view from ya window is awesome, but a wolf's gotta eat." "My goodness what a lecture, thank you, Miss Kass," we laughed it off. What a sweet soul, the complete opposite of her. "Anyway, if you need anything else just tell me, okay?" I nodded in response. As she approached the door, she turned back and told me to be early for tomorrow's meeting. Once again, I was left by myself, not that I minded. Although, I can't stop thinking about her. The embodiment of brave, loving and very much sassy too. How could I ever forget? I love to reminisce about our time together, from the moment she found me until we separated. *Flashback* Third person P.O.V The young pup, Harley, only had a floral dress to protect her fragile body and a necklace with her name engraved on it. She had awoken in the middle of an unfamiliar forest. Two silhouettes of much older wolves had disappeared into the trees at great speed. She was left there as an appointment, but the others were nowhere to be found. The couple had no choice but to hope for the best. Her body began to shiver, and her nose became stuffy. The young pup's breathing white smoke was visible. Her face paled and soon she fell asleep. Upon awakening, she found herself in an unfamiliar house. The wallpaper was no longer yellow but purple. Beyond her was a shiny chandelier, one she had never seen before. Beside her sat an older woman who was asleep. Her brunette hair was short and slightly curly. 'Must be Lycan', she thought to herself. Drowsiness overcame her again until she was awoken by two foreign voices. "What on earth happened to her? She knows I can't raise a child, you're more capable!" the woman shouted. "Look darling, I'm sure Ntando had her reasons. She's your best friend, which means she trusts you. Look, you and I Shria, we can do this. Please trust me baby", he pleaded and held her close to his chest. Supil helped Shria prepare a room for the young pup, Harley, who was still deep in sleep. Her lips were chapped and had turned purple. Her round and innocent face brought tears to the couple. "Well, food is ready now, so we should wake her." "Yeah she must be starving now", replied Supil. Shria gently woke up Harley and carried her in her arms to the dining room. "Wake now little pup", she said in a melodic tone. The delicious scent of food brought a smile to Harley as she awoke from her deep slumber. Dinner proceeded quietly with confusion from Harley and Shria. Shria cleared her throat before saying anything to Harley. "Uhm, so little pup... I'm Shria, your mom's best friend. And this is my husband, Supil. You may call us aunt and uncle if you like." Harley nodded and looked down, "okay auntie Shria," she said in a soft tone. "What happened to mommy and daddy?", her voice cracked. The pup broke into tears, her body shivered and tears streamed uncontrollably down her pink cheeks. She curled into a ball on the chair as she covered her face. Harley calmed down and Supil took the opportunity to explain what happened to her. "Uhh little Harley, mommy and daddy have something to sort out, so they won't be around for some time, okay, and uh, so you'll be staying with us until they come back." "Mommy and daddy are in trouble?" she cried out. "Yes, but they'll be fine. They are strong wolves and so are you little Harley" said Shria. "OK, I'll be strong for mommy and daddy!" said Harley. "Now that's a good girl, auntie Shria will show you to your room, okay?" "Okay," she nodded and took Shria's hand. Supil watched as they walked to Harley's room. He let out a heavy sigh filled with uncertainty. What now? End of flashback. -RED CLAWS PACKHOUSE- "Marcus!" "Yes alpha," said Marcus. Magnus shuffled some documents on his desk harshly. His office barely let in sunshine. His eyes were blood-red when he looked up to Marcus. "I noticed that the pack has been slacking since that day. Just because we can't shift, that doesn't mean there should be no training. Get everyone back into training now!" he said. "Yes alpha, I will do as you say", said Marcus. He rushed out of the office. Marcus gathered the pack and announced the news. Some wolves were pleased to hear that they'd be going on as usual, while some didn't see the point of training without their essence. "Regardless of your moping, what alpha says goes. Everybody, start with your routines right now and save us all from being yelled at and whipped." As soon as the pack dispersed, Jiwoo approached him. His arms were crossed, and his thin lips wore a slight smile. He placed his hand on Marcus' shoulder, "Why do I get the feeling our alpha's grumpy personality is rubbing off on you Macy?" Marcus laughed it off. "Firstly, stop calling me Macy. We have different names for a reason. Secondly, I'm nothing like Red." Jiwoo held up his arms in defeat at Marcus, "Okay man, whatever ya say." Marcus stared at Jiwoo and sighed. He looked over the other wolves on the training field. If only they knew just how much he endured to be alive. "You know J-boy if you tie your hair in a ponytail like that every day and lose some weight", he glanced over at Jiwoo," Maybe, just maybe you might have a chance with her." Jiwoo clenched his fist and landed a clean punch in Marcus' abdomen, "Man shut up, says the submissive beta who always wears his in a bun!" he sneered at him. "I wouldn't be surprised if you led a revolt against him one day, but wait... ", he pointed out his finger. A light bulb had been lit. "You're that submissive Beta I was talking about." "Besides, ladies love handsome big guys like Yoshie Sadahige Jiwoo. Not every girl wants a bodybuilder." "Whatever you say man" grunted Marcus, still recovering from the pain. "They don't like wannabe narcissists". "Look J-boy, I'll see you later, get back to training with the others" he laughed. "Oh and I'm going to tell her you beat me to a pulp for no reason!" said Marcus as he ran away. "Hey, hey, hey I'm sorry," said Jiwoo. He chased after Marcus but gave up after a few meters. "Damn, it still hurts. Does he have an iron fist or what?" Marcus said to himself. He limped back to the room. He knocked on his mirror but nothing happened. Guess he's not in the mood today. What a dense schemer. , Macy.
