The Questions and Battle

1365 Words
Rain could not believe it. Here she was, trying to get away from school before those people from that place send someone else after her, but her? The person who saved her from those people twice, however cruel and gruesome she had done it, she was the last person Rain expected to encounter as she attempted to leave. "You can't leave here. I can't let you," Rabbit told her. "Why...?" Rain breathed out. "Why won't you let me leave? It's far too dangerous for me to stay here. Who are you, anyway?!" Rabbit looked down at the questions in silence, clearly not wanting to answer them. This was especially true, as the masked girl disappeared in a blur. Rain was no fool. The moment Rabbit stopped her from leaving, she knew there was no talking her way out of this. She was already prepared to fight after the last encounter that threatened her life in the first place. Even if this person- no, especially this person- was to be her opponent, she will fight.  She sensed something behind her, and instantly turned to catch Rabbit's hand, the latter who attempted to karate chop her and knock her out. "You really think the same trick will work the third time?" she questioned. "I was not born yesterday!" She tossed Rabbit over her shoulder, attempting to get some distance away from her.  Good news, some distance was gained, but Rabbit had managed to rebound back to Rain, with a fist pulled back. Rain was caught off guard by the rebound, and was unfortunate enough to be struck by Rabbit's punch, straight to the gut. The orangette coughed out some saliva from the impact, and was sent skidding back.  Once she came to a stop, the girl lied on the ground, holding her stomach in great pain. Rain then sensed something from above, and looked up in time to see Rabbit coming down at her with an axe kick. Widening her eyes in shock, she hastily moved away from her spot, as Rabbit's leg hit the ground. Rain's eyes dilated even more when she saw a crater on the ground, and was quite baffled by the sight. Recovering from the punch, she then slowly got back up on her feet and glared at Rabbit, who simply looked back at her. "You are nothing but a Freshie. There is nothing you can do to change my mind, or our leader," the masked girl said. "If you truly wish to live a better, longer life, you are better off staying here." "I don't want to just live a better life... I just want to be normal! Why can't you or anyone from that place understand that?! I never asked for any of this!" Rain shouted. Rabbit only shook her head in response to the question. "You don't seem to understand it... People like us- girls like us- can never live a normal life. Not ever again after our awakening." Rain raised a questioning brow at those words. "'Awakening'? That's what you call having these powers? An awakening?! Maybe you haven't noticed, but these powers make us more monsters than anything! They're ruining my life! How can you just call these a beginning?!" Rabbit went silent at the question, much to Rain's ire. Clearly, this masked individual knew something, but just refuses to answer, and that made Rain more irritated than being targeted by that organization. "... If you don't remember yourself, then there is no reason to say anything to you," was all she said. "Remember what?! What are you hiding from me?!" Rain demanded. Rabbit said nothing in response, as she only disappeared in a blur once more. Expecting another sneak attack from her blind spot, Rain turned around, prepared to catch the girl, when she was struck from behind, and was knocked down, flat on the ground.  "I really am sorry," Rabbit said, she who was responsible. "Believe me when I say I want to tell you the truth as well, but as things are now, it is better for you to accept the truth on your own, with your own eyes and memories..." Just as she reached down to pick up the unconscious girl, she was suddenly grabbed by the wrist, much to her surprise, as Rain shot up with a harsh headbutt to the masked person's concealed face. "Don't go making decisions for me!" the orangette shouted, her forehead bleeding from the headbutt. Rabbit, on the other hand, tumbled back from the surprise attack, holding her own forehead in pain, as her mask fell from her face. Rain refused to give this individual the chance to try anything funny and rushed at her with her own arm pulled back. Once she was close enough, she threw her fist forward, and struck the individual in the face, knocking the person down. Rather than continue her onslaught, upon seeing the unknown hooded person knocked out, Rain cautiously ran away from her. Her goal was not to beat this rabbit masked girl up, but to run away from the academy. "W-Wait... Rain..." she then heard the masked individual spoke, causing her to freeze. How did this person know her name? She never told her name to her before. Rain turned to the individual, and was left even more speechless when she saw Rabbit's face, revealed when the latter's hood slipped off. "Hey... What's the meaning of this...?" she breathed out. "What is going on here?! How could you... How could you be the killer, Sherry?!" Indeed, under the mask, forehead bleeding so, it was none other than Sherry, whose blonde hair and red bang was hidden under a brown wig. "You... can't leave here..." Sherry told Rain, slowly getting back up on her feet. The orangette didn't know what she should be enraged about. The fact that her best friend was a savage killer with powers, or the questionable demand for her staying at the academy. The last one especially when she knew of the people from that organization coming after them.  "What is the meaning of this?! Y-You have powers? You were a killer? You-... Did you know this whole time about me?!" Rain questioned. She wanted to say more, but the whole situation was too much of a mindblower for Rain. She had so much more to say about this whole mess, but did not know where to start exactly. Recovering from the headbutt, Sherry said, "Rain... I know you have a lot of questions about this, and I understand you-" "'Understand me'? In what way?!" Rain interrupted. "How long did you know about me, really?! Why did you not say anything if you knew the truth about me?! I have the right to know everything!" Sherry nervously looked away from her eyes, unsure of what to say or do in this situation. All she did do, however, was disappear in a blur once more. Rain was getting more and more irritated with the lack of answers and the growing questions in her. Without bothering to look, she pivoted and held a hand out behind her, just in time to grab another attempted karate chop. "Quit avoiding my questions... and answer!" she shouted, tossing Sherry forward. As the blonde slid to a stop, Rain ran towards her and swiped her hands out, causing her nails to extend and sharpen like claws. She swung, but the speedy girl managed to avoid each of her strikes. Eventually, Sherry resorted to leaping high up in the air to avoid Rain. The orangette, engulfed by her rage, refused to let her escape, and searched around. Upon finding a nicely tall tree, she hastily climbed up it and leapt off from the tallest, tree branch, barely meeting the surprised Sherry in the air, and smacked her down. Managing to land on her feet after, Rain glared at the blonde once more and went to approach her for more beatings. Before she could do anything else, though, something small hit her on the neck, catching her off guard. Rain pulled the object out, and saw that it was a tranquilizer. Next the girl knew, her vision started to blur, and everything went black.
