I stare at the pouring rain from under the overhang of the restaurant as I pull my coat around me. It’s even colder now, but there’s something peaceful about the sound of the water pounding the pavement. I lean back against Sawyer and he wraps his arms around me.
“What are you thinking about?” he asks.
“Us, and the few days we have together...”
“What about them?”
I turn and face him. “Do you think they will be enough?”
Sawyer shrugs, his eyes darting over my head. “How about we take it one day at a time? Come on, let’s race to the car.”
