CHAPTER 16

Oriya’s POV

After the meeting got done I went back to my cabin and relaxed while scrolling through my phone. There were couple of messages from Chintan for lunch and some other random messages form my friends. I replied to all of them and went towards the cafeteria for my late lunch.

While I was waiting for the elevator, Mr. Krish walked towards me. 

“Going for lunch ?” He asked me.

I nodded my head and replied “ hmm yes”

“Mind if I join you ?” He asked me while entering the elevator. What was I supposed to say. It’s his office I cannot say no but I also need my own time away from him. 

Without looking at him I replied with hesitation “Yeah sure”. 

I looked around at the cafeteria it was deserted. Actually it was post 4 in the afternoon and everyone was busy with work or it was their tea time. Then I realised there wouldn’t be food as well as the caterers only provide lunch from 1 pm to 3 pm. 

I guess today my lunch will be coffee and biscuits. I’m too lazy to order food online as it will take another hour for them to delivery. Without waiting further I turn around and walk back. 

“Where are you going” he asked me. “They aren’t serving lunch at this hour so I’m going back to work” I replied looking back at him. 

“Just follow me Oriya” I was about to protest before my stomach made a grumbling noise and he chuckled. Why did my body embarrass me at this point. I feel my body has its own agenda when I’m with him.

We walked through the cafeteria, towards the executive room which was exclusive dining area for  clients. The tables were empty and it was just the both of us. I was extremely confused what to do. He took a seat on the corner table and I followed him. I was sitting opposite him while I gazed out of the window. We were on the 20th floor and the view was amazing. The sun was low and there was steady traffic on the streets. 

I was lost in the view when he asked “ During monsoon its much more serene. So we have couple of options for lunch and I hope you like what I have ordered “.

By the time he completed all the food was placed before us. The waiters served us the food while looking at me with a smirk. I was irritate by their behaviour but I had to hold on my anger. Maybe they haven’t seen their boss eat with an employee before so that’s why they were surprised to see me.  

He had ordered for pesto risotto with mushroom, penne pasta in arrabbiata sauce with plain cheese breadsticks together with cream of mushroom soup. 

“Thank god I’m not allergic to mushrooms” I said while looking at the food. 

He chucked before saying “So do you like working here Oriya ?”

“The work is pretty challenging but I miss my previous office” I had to be honest irrespective of how things were between us prior. 

“Missing office or missing someone in general ?” I could see the glint of jealously in his eyes. I was thinking what should I reply. If I said yes then it will be easier for me to stay away from him. He would himself stay away from me. My problem would be solved. I could continue working here without his advances on me.

“Yes actually I’m missing someone special” I thought this will work but instead he got angry and banged his hand on the table.

“Really you want me to believe your lies ? I know everything about you and even more than what you know”. He got up from his seat and moved towards me. I was scared of what I should say. Should I confess or lie more. He pulled my chin and made me face him. “You want to play hide and seek right ? Make sure you hide well because I am going to get you. Once you’re mine you won’t be able to run” he kissed me lightly before leaving me alone in the executive room. 

I was dumb folded sitting there. What am I playing and why am I playing ? What’s happening ? I wished I had someone with whom I could talk to. Why does he want to play a stupid game with me ?
