Louella opened her eyes and found that she was inside a cave.
“Cellestine?” She tried calling out her friend’s name but no response came. “Is anyone there?” Still, no response came.
It was pitch dark. Using her heightened senses, she looked for any signs of life near her but there wasn’t even any animal near her location. Why would these people isolate her?
She decided to go west. She hoped it was not a dead-end. Sure enough, there was light at the end of the tunnel. When she got to the area where the strongest light was coming from, she found the exit of the cave to be in a tricky place. Along the cave wall, leading up to the exit, there were several protruding trees and tree roots. An idea sparked from her mind.
