Polyidus too was a part of the conversation, and it became clear to Bellerophon that the seer was quite protective of Philonoe, that he cared for her welfare even above that of the king’s. King Iobates did not appear that evening. That night, Bellerophon dreamed of home, of the empty corridors and pitying looks that had haunted his childhood like a recurring dream that left one bereft of joy in the morning.
