But there is a problem - your younger brother has been captured by Alpha Dragan, your mate.” “What?!” My eyes bulged with shock as I gazed at the face of Beta Adrian. “My younger brother? H-How did Alpha Dragan find him?” “I don't know. But he is in captivity. We have to save him.” Beta Adrian spoke with tension in his voice. Saliva formed a lump in my throat and I ruffled it down my throat. The news of my younger brother being captured broke me and I could feel my heart racing hard against my chest. My eyes rolled around within its socket. ‘Hasn’t Alpha Dragan done enough?!’ I echoed with disgust. I knew my father was responsible for making him lose his initial mate. But this move he took was unwarranted. After making me lose my pack and everything my father worked so hard for, he still went ahead to take the most valuable person in my life. I raised my head and looked into Beta Adrian's face. “Brace yourself, we are going to rescue my brother right away!” When Beta Adrian heard, he glanced at me from head to toe. “What happened to your feet?” He asked with care in his voice as he came closer to touch it. “It's nothing, Beta. I lifted myself from the ground. “Ash!” I groaned intensely. While Beta Adrian held me by the hand just to help. “Alpha. You are in no good condition to go after Alpha Dragan.” I exhaled heavily and released my claws out of my fingers. “If this means the last battle I will fight, I don't care.” I became very desperate. Beta Adrian growled with disapproval. “I can't allow you to do this to yourself. Not after the whole pack, including the soldiers sacrificed themselves. Further questioning will lead to your death.” After speaking fiercely, I loosened my grip. And Beta Adrian coughed out. He caught his breath and fell on his feet before me. “Alpha Lilith, since you've decided to walk this path. I promise to keep you safe.” His emotions throbbed through his voice. “Let's go!” After four hours, Beta Adrian and I arrived at the Ghost Moon pack, ruled by the fierce Alpha Dragan. “Something is off Alpha. Where are the soldiers guarding the entrance of the pack?” Beta Adrian spoke with his instinct. Even though I knew he was right that something was off. But I don't care. “Let's go inside.” I ordered and as the both of us took steps inside. The gate of the pack was locked behind us. “AHH!” I heard a loud groan beside me. And I turned to see if Beta Adrian was hit. My body trembled after the turning. My lips vibrated slowly and my eyes laced with hot tears. My heart hit slowly against my chest and I felt I was in a horrible nightmare. ‘No, Beta Adrian can't be dead.’ I mumbled under my breath as I took steps towards his corpse laying on the ground. I held him by the hand and hot tears dropped down my eyes as I gazed at him.
