Ex’s
—
I looked at her completely speechless, out of all the bars in town why was she here, working. In an instant everything she did came rushing in thought, I wanted to beat the living s**t out of her but my dumb ass was just there frozen.
“Abigail?” I heard my name being called again, and it wasn’t from her. I closed my eyes for a second then opened them again, Josie was right in front of me. “Are you not feeling alright? Should I take you home or call Riley?” she tried getting her phone out of her pocket but I stopped her.
My hand was over hers, I gave her a light smile before I spoke. “I’m fine no need to worry babe.” Josie looked from my hand to my face, when she was about to speak and blow my cover. I turned facing my ex, “We’ll have two Bellini’s.”
Sam looked at me a bit hurt but what did she expect from me, she shook her head then left. Once she was away from hearing distance I let go of Josie’s hand, she reached out and pressed her palm against my forehead. “Are you sure you’re okay Abby, you just called me babe and a second ago you froze. Shouldn’t I take you home or something?”
I moved her palm slowly from my forehead then intertwined out fingers, it was quiet obvious Sam was watching. “Just act like we’re dating, please for me.” I whispered to her then gave her a light smile.
She looked at me uncertain, why was it so hard for her to catch up. “Wait why, is there like a—” I pressed my lips on her cutting her short, hate to admit it but her lips could be addicting. She eventually started kissing me back and I felt something, something I didn’t want to feel.
I heard glass hit the counter which led me to stop kissing Josie, I turned to find a shocked Sam. She covered it up real fast but I already saw, “Here are your orders.”
I gave Josie one last kiss then pulled away from her, “Thanks.” Sam quickly left to the other side guess that worked out. I pulled the drinks to us, gave Josie her’s then took mine into my hand.
Josie did the same once she drunk from her glass, she left it on the counter again then faced me. “You kissed me?” sounded more like a question, I rolled my eyes. “Now we’re even.”
“But why, didn’t you tell me you want nothing to do with me.”
“Not quiet true.” she looked at me lost, she was going to give me a huge job on explaining. I sighed leaving my glass down, I pointed towards Sam. “See her, yeah that’s my ex who cheated on me a couple of times so I’ve heard. She ended things last week in a very embarrassing manner—”
“And I’m just being used to make her jealous.” Josie finished the sentence for me, great now she was catching on.
“Correct!” I squealed then took a sip from my glass, tonight was going to be fairly good and bad. From the corner of my eyes I saw Josie sigh then drop her head, “Wow, just great.” she whispered.
I didn’t mean for her to heard think of it that way, I placed my hand over her shoulder looking her straight in the eyes. “Wait Josie not like that, don’t think of it like that.”
She shook my arm off her then gave me a small smile. “Don’t worry about it, I understand you’re still in love with her.” my face completely dropped, I glared at her in disbelief she didn’t know me to assume anything like that, after all Sam did there was not way. “What.. me?... No, not a chance in hell.” and that was the exact truth
She looked at her almost empty glass, lifting it in the air she moved it back and forth without looking at me. “Hmm, after this we should probably go.”
I shook my head to oppose, “The night is still young Josie, just a little bit please and sorry for using you, can we please have a good time?” I was now pouting, Josie gave me one look then laughed. “Just a few shots or cocktails, I still need to drink us.”
After that I ordered us a bunch of shots, I took most of them and the drinks started taking effect.
Josie took the glass from my hands placing it far away from my reach, “Okay that’s enough, let’s go find Riley.” she tore her gaze back to the dance floor which wasn’t as filled as before, I watched her with full admiration, she was gorgeous.
“s**t, where are your friends when we need them.” she hissed, I felt her hand pressed against my lower back, so warm and welcoming. “I’m going to take you to my place unless you’re sobber enough to give me the map to your place.” I looked up and our eyes met.
I smiled stupidly, “Let’s go party till dawn, I’m perfectly fine.”
“No you’re not.”
Who was she to tell me I wasn’t sober, I still had full control. Then I saw Sam, “Sam! Sam! Hello it’s been a while, I forgot to introduce my girlfriend. We’re going home to have s*x, isn’t that right love.” I leaned back pressing myself against her.
“Okay, you’ve had way too much to drink. We’ll be leaving now, sorry for that.” she tried getting me up but I didn’t want to leave till Sam felt what I did.
“It’s okay.” I tilted my head, San was okay with all this? She wasn’t at all hurt. I felt a sting in my heart, I found myself getting up but I stopped when I felt her cool hand on mine. “And Abigail I’m sorry for everything, I hope she makes you happy.”
I tried my best to hold back my tears, I got ahold of Josie. “In more ways that you could not.” i whispered then dragged us out of the bar.
I stood on the pavement tears running down my cheeks, everything was burly. I felt Josie embrace me then I cried in her arms, the pain was to unbearable.
I looked at Josie with a faint smile on my face, she shirt was still wet from my tears and she stayed. I felt the car stop, I got out and followed her all the way to her room, I had no means of dealing with Riley over this.
I walked a bit quicker then caught up with Josie, I slipped my arm around hers, it just felt right.
she closed the door behind us once we were in the room, there were hardly anything personal, only the pale room colours. “You can take the bed—”
“We’re grown adults Josie, we can share a bed.” I cut her short, she laughed a bit embarrassed by the thought, then she walked over to the closet.
We were all changed and dressed laying under the sheets, I turned and faced Josie. “Thanks for today.” even if she didn’t see me fully through the faint light, I know she could feel I was smiling.
“Anytime, just don’t cry like that again. I thought it started raining for a minute there.” we both broke into laughter, something I never thought I would do after crying over my ex.
We eventually stopped laughing then comfortable silence filled the room, I moved closer to her. I just really wanted to kiss her right now, I leaned in for a kiss, planting a light kiss on her lips I moved away from hers.
she held me in place preventing me from moving back, “We’re going to regret this in the morning.” she spoke, I felt her hot breath against my lips. “Yeah..” my voice was raspy and palms were sweaty.
I felt her lips on mine again this time a bit more passionate and I was kissing her back, one thing led to another and the rest was history, really great history.
