Austin's POV:
Lately, I feel like Ally and I are getting closer. It's not like we'll get together or at least not that soon, but I like that we understand each other so well. Now we are not arguing or trying to change our roommates as before. Let's say that it was strange for us to be in one room together, but we got used to it. Before you think about it, we don't do anything. For now, we are keeping it friendly. It's not very easy, but I am trying my best. I think that our problem is not how we feel, but when we get brave enough to admit it. I don't know about Ally, but I would get jealous if I saw someone else with her. I know that she is old enough to protect herself and that we are not dating, which means that I don't have the right to stop her from going out with other people, but I want her to be with the right guy. Even if it's not me. Ally is a clever girl, so I know that she won't go on a blind date. Well, if she does it, I will go secretly after to see what will happen. Ok, this was a joke. I won't do anything. Up to now, we have managed to keep our good relations and I don't want to ruin them. Many girls were looking after me as well, but I was not interested in any of them. I already have a girl in my mind and I don't want anyone else. Well, I don't want to tell the whole university that I like a girl, but I will keep rejecting them, hoping that they will stop coming up to me or until they lose interest. Let's hope that this will be soon.
Today I have one class before lunch and two after that. I don't know why, but I woke up in a very good mood. I saw that Ally was sleeping. It's not a lie that I still want to cuddle with her, but as always, I won't do anything. I got up and went to get ready. Just because I am in a good mood, doesn't mean that I will dress up better. I put on some jeans and a hoodie. Ally used to wear mine a lot. It's not like she doesn't have her own, but according to her, taking someone else's things feels better. I still don't understand it, but back then I didn't want to argue with her. Moreover, she looks good in my clothes.
I got ready and went to wake up Ally. I started playing with her hair. When we were dating, the moment I started doing this, she was falling asleep. I slightly rubbed one of her cheeks and she slowly opened her eyes. I backed off because I think that she didn't like it. Well, at least she woke up. Next time, I won't do anything. Maybe I will only call her name to wake her.
- Why did you move?
- Because I thought that you didn't like it?
- I never said it.
- Yes, but... you strangely looked at me.
- I am still sleepy. How do you expect me to look at you? - she asked, chuckling
- Ok, my bad.
- How much time do we have until the first class?
- Like an hour. Why?
- Then why did you wake me up?
- Because that way you will have enough time to get ready and freshen yourself.
- You deserve me to kill you, but I won't do it.
- I know. After all, I am your favorite roommate.
- You are my only roommate.
- Maybe, but I am still your favorite.
Soon Ally decided to get up. She went into the bathroom to get ready. I decided to pick her outfit for the day. I'm not sure that she will wear it, but it's worth a try. I took her leggings and one of my hoodies. This one used to be her favorite, until I didn't buy a black one. I have one jacket which fits her perfectly. To be honest, this is the only one. The shoes will be hers because our size is different. I walked in front of the door and waited for her to come out. She flinched when she saw me.
- I told you to don't scare me like that.
- When? I don't remember.
- Then fresh up your memory. Now move. I need to get dressed.
- And if I don't do it.
- I... I will tickle you until you do it.
- Fine, I will move.
Ally walked to her bed and saw the clothes on it. She looked at me and I only smiled. I guess that she didn't understand what I was trying to tell her. She went to her wardrobe and picked out other clothes. Later, she changed and sat on her bed until it was time for our class. I went into the bathroom and when I came out, she wasn't there. Great. Did she get mad at me? I didn't do anything wrong. I walked to our class and looked at her a little bit shocked. She was with my clothes. How did she change so fast? I don't understand. I sat next to her and she looked at me.
- Why did you change your mind?
- I never did it.
- What?
- This is for scaring me. I decide to ruin your mood. Watch out next time.
- You will be the death of me.
- I'm glad to hear that.
After this class, we went for lunch. Toby and Macy said that they wouldn't come. Both with Ally went to a small diner close to the university. I saw how a couple of girls looked at her, which made me chuckle. It looks like my roommate is proud of the clothes which she is wearing. I looked at her, and she smiled at me. I love this girl. It's not like I have stopped, but sometimes she makes me realize it.
Later, we walked to our last classes for the day. I offered Ally a walk, and surprisingly she agreed. After the classes, we walked to our room. The plan was to eat dinner outside and then go for a walk. Soon there was a knock on the door. Maybe Macy and Toby want us to hang out. Ally opened the door and I was surprised to see the people who walked into our dorm. I can't believe that they are here.
- Boys, what are you doing here?
- Hello to you too. - Dani said
- Will you answer my question?
- Well, we have a vacation, and you know that our grandparents are here. So we have decided to come and see you. Also, we brought some company. Come in girls.
In that moment, Ally's friends came here. Do we expect someone else? Our room is small, and I don't know how all of us will fit here.
- Now, to the main question. Why is Ally in your room? - Jake asked
- Well, um... let me present you, my roommate.
- What? - all of our friends said in sync
- Ally, why didn't you tell us? - Charlotte asked
- Because it's not something that important. Moreover, I didn't want it. The problem is that no one wanted to take him.
- I don't understand. Man, can you explain? - Dani said
- We tried to find people who would take her or me as their roommate, but no one wanted us.
- And now we are stuck being in one room together. - Ally said
- It's not that bad. At least you are with someone who you know. - Jasmine said
- Seriously? - Ally asked, looking at her
- Now, it's our turn to ask questions. Can I know how all of you are here? Do you girls have grandparents here?
- It's a funny story. It turned out that the boys are at the same university as us. They only study different careers. Then there was one party, and Jasmine and I drank a bit too much alcohol or to say enough. Later other things happened which I won't explain, and now we are dating. I'm sorry.
Both with Ally were looking at them, not believing our ears. How did this happen? When and why don't we know anything? I thought that they were our friends. Now I know why all of them are here. I can't believe it. Well, I am happy for the boys, but I wish that they had told me. This is not something that you forgot to mention. I didn't tell them about Ally, because nothing had happened between us. I was about to say something when there was a knock on the door. I opened it and saw Macy.
- Oh, hi. Is Ally here?
- Yes. Ally!
- Hey Macy, what's up? Why do you look upset?
- I want to tell you that if in the future you want to go out with us, I won't come.
- Why? What happened?
- I broke our friendship.
- With us?
- No, with Toby.
- Why would you do that?
- Because he is annoying and always acts as a babysitter. I can't stand him anymore.
- Don't you think that you are overreacting a little bit? You know why he is doing it.
- I don't care. I got tired of him always telling me what to do.
- If you say so.
- I'll go to my room. Call me if you need anything.
- Ok. Bye Macy.
- This is not good. - I said
- Yeah, I know.
- Ally!
Now, Toby appeared in front of our room. I guess that our dinner and walk won't be today. Well, I'm not selfish and I want to help our friends, but if I have to be honest, I don't know how. They are having the problem that Ally and I had, but with the difference that they are not dating. I'm sure that they will get back together to be best friends, but I don't know when. In their friendship, Macy is the child and Toby is the protective parent. This is how it looks from the outside.
- Macy has already told us what happened. - I said
- I know and I want to fix everything, but I don't know how to do it.
- What have you done this time? - Ally asked
- She wanted to try a drink and I didn't let her, because it had alcohol in it, and I know how this will affect her.
- I think that you have to leave her to make a mistake. That way she will realize why you treated her that way.
- This is the worst idea ever. I won't let her do something which she will regret later.
- I agree with Ally.
- I'm sorry, but no. I can't do this. - Toby said and walked away
- Can I know why they are our friends? - I asked and she laughed
- Let's just go inside.
We talked with our old friends for a while. They looked very happy together. We offered them to go for dinner with us, but all of them denied it. It turned out my friends' grandmothers are friends as well, and all of them will have dinner together. Well, they said that tomorrow all of them might come to see us again. When our friends walked home, Ally and I got ready to go out. We would gladly invite Toby and Macy with us, but I don't think that they will come. Not when one of them is there. These two need to fix their relations.
- Do you think that they will be ok?
- Our friends will be fine. Moreover, all of them are dating, so everything looks good.
- I was talking about Macy and Toby. They are best friends.
- They will be fine. All they need is time. After all, they have our problem.
- Yes, but that was why we broke up. I don't want the same thing to happen to them.
- And it won't. We won't let it. If you want, tomorrow we can talk with them.
- I would love that.
- Now, let's go for dinner. I am getting hungry. - I said and she laughed
After dinner, we went for a walk. We just walked around the town. There weren't many people outside. I won't lie that I enjoy the time which I spend with Ally. I wish that I could grab her hand or do something to show everyone that she is mine, but I can't do that. I don't think that she will get at me for this, but I prefer not to risk it. Later, we walked back to our dorm. I want to sleep with her so badly, but she won't let me. I looked at her, and she only smiled at me.
- Hey, are you ok?
- What? Yes, I'm fine.
- Do you want a friendly hug?
- Yes, actually I need one.
Ally came closer and gave me one. I don't want to let her go, but I can't keep her for myself. Maybe she felt that because she pulled away and looked at me with worried eyes.
- You can tell me if there is a problem.
- No, I'll be fine.
- Do you need a cuddle buddy?
- What?
- I can stay with you until you fall asleep. Then I will go to bed.
- Really? Will you do that?
- Why not? After all, you are my friend.
- Thank you, Ally.
- No problem. Let's go to bed now.
It's not what I wanted, but it's better than nothing. I shouldn't have expected her to sleep with me. Both of us went under the covers of my bed. I have to say that it's a bit tight, but I won't complain. This is the first time we have been so close after we broke up. I wrapped my arm around her waist, expecting her to move it, but no. She didn't do anything. Maybe one day we can get back together. Well, this is what I am hoping for. I want to be with Ally and no one else. I have nothing against the other girls, but none of them will be able to replace her. I felt how my eyes started to close and I knew that this was the moment in which Ally will go back to her bed. I'm glad that she stayed with me. She was a great girlfriend and now is a great friend. I love you Ally, and I always will.
