"So what else about the Penta- Gigantus ?". Ava said.
"They aren't called that anymore. The name is super cringe and it's a good thing they realized on time. I mean, I always feel nauseous whenever I'm saying that thing." Sophia said.
In a low tone, Della said, " Ava, Sophia, keep your voices down. They are right behind us." Ava became very ashamed of herself. "I hope I wasn't too loud." She said.
"Of course, you were." A boy or rather, a member of the group said to Ava. Della and her friends were terrified after this, especially Sophia who actually said something about them aloud.
"Oh no!" Oliver said.
"What's that? What did you say, boy?" One of them asked Oliver.
"Nothing....sir." Oliver said, trembling with fear.
"Sir? Seriously?" Ava said to Oliver.
"Ava, please. Don't do anything here. Just be still. " Della said to Ava. Ava smiled and said to one of the boys.
"This is insane, Della. Do you guys think this is a movie? This is premium bullying and should not be tolerated."
"Ava, what are you doing?" Sophia said.
"Who are you ?" One of the boys asked Ava.
"You don't need to know." Ava said.
There was a laughter everywhere after Ava has said this. Everyone was amazed by Ava's confidence but they knew it was risky and Ava wouldn't know that because she was just new.
"Silence!" One of the boys commanded and there was instant silent.
"Even popular students in this school can never attempt to do what you just did. I can't believe i was almost 'knocked' down with insults by a girl, a new girl in fact. " The boy and said and everyone laughed.
"Now, you listen to me carefully 'cause not all has this opportunity we are giving you. I'm only going to say this once. Consider this a welcome speech from us. Do not, I repeat, do not attempt to repeat this madness you just displayed 'cause it's going to be really ugly when next you do it. If you really want to enjoy your stay here, do the needful."
Everyone paved way as they proceeded out of the Cafeteria.
"Let's get outta here. Recess is about to end." Ocean said. Ava got very angry and left the cafeteria. "What's wrong with her?" A student asked.
"I'm really disappointed in you guys, especially you, Oliver. You called your fellow student sir. How absurd!" Ava said.
"Ava, trust me. If you've been here before now, you would have understood why Oliver called Aiden sir." Sophia said.
"Aiden? So that's his name. Miscreant." Ava said with disgust.
" Clive, Richard, Eugene, Liam and the leader of their group, Aiden. Those people are very ambitious. You wouldn't want to know how." Sophia said.
"Oh, my heart was racing. I thought they would come for me. I also said something about them. Could it be that they didn't hear it? Oh, bless God." Sophia continued, still panting heavily.
"My advice for every student in Grayson High is 'Never get into those guys way or they will get into yours' " Ava, those guys are bad news. They are not regular bullies." Della said.
"Why are you guys glorifying those guys?" Ava asked. Della sighed and said, "See you later, ava. Noon classes are about to commence." Then della and and her friends left.
Throughout classes, ava was reflecting on the scenes that occured in the cafeteria during recess. Although, she seemed defeated and humiliated by those miscreants, she didn't have any regrets for her actions instead she applauded herself for a job well done, something that no student in that school couldn't do. Well, maybe because she was a new student. As time went on, the school hours were drawing to an end gradually.
"What a day." Ava said to herself. Then from a distance, Della and her friends called Ava. They began reaching out to Ava by running to her.
"Ava,were you ignoring us?" Ocean asked.
"Are you mad at us, Ava? Your reaction towards us while we called you was giving cold vibes." Sophia said.
" I'm not angry. Why should I be? Look, I'm saying that you guys need to stand up and show those guys that you're strong. This is very strange and this is not the kind of vibe I want to get from this school, you see. I think I will have to put those guys in their place."Ava said.
"Ava, that is quite impossible. Even teachers fear them." Della said.
" Then watch me. Bye. See you all tomorrow. " Ava said and left.
" I have to admit. Ava seems kinda weird." Ocean said.
"More like odd. She's very confident and that's an attribute we don't find in ourselves. You see, we should all learn from ava or else, we all will be the rags of Grayson High." Della said.
"And you, Oliver......" Della turned to Oliver.
"Wh....what about me?" Oliver asked, puzzled.
"Apart from ava, I'm also very disappointed in you. Do you know the weight of the dignity and reputation you lost today? Aiden is a student like us. How dare you call him sir deliberately?" Della said.
"Deliberately? Look della, the least thing we should be doing among ourselves here is judging ourselves. We all know that apart from me, the whole school is afraid of the Penta-Gigantus. It was only by fear I called aiden sir." Oliver said.
"You see, oliver, you aren't making any sense here. Della isn't judging you at all. She is trying to correct you." Sophia said.
"Okay, guys. I'm heading home now. I'm really not in the mood for all of these right now." Oliver said.
"You're leaving like we are fighting or something." Ocean said.
"Will you stop being childish, Ocean?" Oliver asked, being very annoyed.
"Hey , watch it, Oliver. What's gotten into you this evening? "Ocean defended.
" Ocean, relax. Let him be." Della said.
Meanwhile at ava's house, ava was too busy answering thousands of questions from her mother.
"Mom, relax, will you? I just go back from school and I still haven't freshened up, rest and prepare for tomorrow like every other student coming back from school would do." Ava said.
"Alright, dear. Your dinner will be served on the dining table along with some sweet and exotic desserts." Mrs Miller said.
"Thanks, mom. Today was really stressful so I really need those desserts." Ava said.
"I'm eager to know what happened on your first day, ava." Mrs Miller said.
"Alright, mom. I'll tell you everything that happened after I'm done with freshening up, okay?" Ava said.
"Alright, dear. I'll head off to the kitchen to prepare dinner." Mrs Miller said.
"Thanks, mom. You're the best." Ava said and left. Ava st on the bed, reflecting on that happened that day. Then she began to soliloquize," The school isn't that bad but all lot of students there are pretty weird , especially those guys, Penta..... Penta-Gigantus."
After some minutes of deep soliloquy, ava's phone rang aloud. "It's an unknown number. Who could this be?" She wondered.
"Hello?" She said, after answering the call.
"Hi, ava. It's me, della." Della replied.
"Della? How did you get my number?" Ava asked.
"After school, I went back to class to fetch a textbook I forgot. Then I saw a book, it's more or less like a diary though and your number was written in it. So I decided to call and inform you that your book is with me." Della explained.
"Oh my goodness, della. Thank you so much. That books means a lot to me. It's not my diary. I just document a whole lot of important stuff in there. Please keep it safe. I will take it back tomorrow." Ava said.
"Yeah, it sure seems very important to you. Okay, I will keep it safe. I'm so glad I found this." Della said.
"Thanks again. " Ava said.
"So, are you hanging up now?" Della asked.
"I just got back from school, you see. I've gotta freshen yo and rest. We'll talk later, okay?" Ava said.
"Alright, later then. Bye." Della said and hung up the call.
* *. *
".........and they are very annoying, mom. The whole school is so afraid of those guys." Ava narrated to her mom after dinner.
"What is the group name again?" Mrs Miller asked.
"The whole school calls them Penta-Gigantus. What the heck. All what they enjoy doing is feeling big and bullying the whole school. It's a good thing I was there. I had to show them a piece of my madness." Ava continued.
"No, Ava. Do not display any form of madness at Grayson High. Remember, you are on scholarship there and only there for studies. Nothing more, got it?" Mrs Miller said.
