I stood there in shock as this wolf made eye contact with me for the second time. Her beautiful hazel eyes bore into my very soul. I broke eye contact to take in her wolf clearly. She was a decent-sized wolf and her mahogany-colored fur glistened in the soft light coming from the main part of the house. I took a deep breath and welcomed her sent. To me she smelled like fresh-baked bread, the same scent I’d smelled at the hospital.
I stood there watching her until Olivia returned from the house with a robe for the seemingly shy wolf.
I watched as Olivia set the robe on a nearby lawn chair and then came back to stand by my side.
“What do you smell my love?” I asked Olivia quietly so only she would hear.
“I smell roses… the same thing I smelled at the hospital.” She looked up at me with amusement.
The wolf turned her back to us and shifted before she threw on the robe. She turned around and both Olivia and I gasped. I knew immediately who she was.
“Well s**t,” I said starring at her. “Your Doctor Thomas’ daughter, Elena!”
“Yes sir” she whispered.
“No need for the formalities. Call me Lucas.” I said stepping towards her.
"And please call me Olivia or Liv." Olivia chimed in as she stepped past me. Olivia grabbed Elena's hand and pulled her towards the house. "You must have a lot of questions beautiful. Let’s head inside and talk.”
I followed them silently as we made our way into the house and to an empty common room. Elena sat down in a chair and we sat together on a love seat across from her.
After a few moments of silence, she asked, “So you both imprinted on me? The same way I imprinted on both of you?"
We both answered "Yes." Simultaneously.
“So that means that you would both be my mate?” She said fidgeting with the string of the robe.
“From the looks of it," I said putting my hand on Olivia's knee. "So how about you tell us about yourself, Elena?"
"Well, I'm not very good at talking about myself. I'm shy around people I don't know well." She said quietly.
"Would it be easier if we asked questions?" Olivia asked her.
"Probably." She shrugged.
"How old you are? 20?" I asked.
Olivia punched me in the arm. "It's rude to ask a lady how old she is!"
I rubbed my arm and groaned at her. "Yes, Ma'am." I looked at Elena and smiled, "Sorry Elena."
"It's fine. I actually don't mind saying, I'm 19. If you don't mind me asking, How old are you two?" She asked
"So it’s okay for a lady to ask another lady's age?" I said playfully.
They both said "Yes" and laughed at me.
"To answer your question I'm 36 and this guy is 39," Olivia said sweetly after they finished laughing. The sound of their laughter together made my heart skip a beat.
"Hopefully the age difference isn't too much for you," I added.
"I don't know, honestly. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I have two mates." She laughed nervously.
"Well, we are right there with you. We didn't plan on welcoming anyone else into our relationship.” I said.
“But the Goddess of Night obviously has other plans!” Olivia added.
“I mean don’t get me wrong. I wanted a mate but I didn’t think I’d get two.” She shrugged. “Guess the Goddess of Night heard me when I said I was scared about who I’d be with.”
"Scared who you'd be with?" I asked.
"Yeah, I've always been attracted to females so I was nervous my mate would be a male… and I wouldn't know what to do." She said shyly.
"So have you been with a female before?" I asked, again receiving a smack in the arm from Olivia.
Elena didn't miss a beat when she responded, "Yes." She looked ashamed as she looked away from us.
“There is nothing to be ashamed of little flower," Olivia said.
"Little flower?" I asked.
"Elena, to me you smell like roses. And little flower just popped in my head." Olivia explained.
"Really? What do I smell like to you Lucas?" She asked turning to me, smiling.
"To me, you smell like freshly baked bread." I said, "You and Olivia complement each other because she smells like honey to me." And I really wanted nothing more than to take them both upstairs and never leave my bed again. I didn't know what I'd done to deserve a second mate, but I thanked the Goddess for sending her to us.
"To me, you guys smell like apple pie. Olivia, you smell like apples, and Lucas you smell like cinnamon." She said
A comfortable silence fell over us, I glanced out the window and noticed the sun was coming up.
After a few moments, Elena took a deep breath and looked at me and then at Olivia. “Now I’m not rejecting you.”
“But what?” I interrupted.
“But I need some time to process all of this.” She said.
“Well Elena, take your time. Because I think we need a little time to process this ourselves.” Olivia said.
“I agree!” I chimed in. “Now Elena. Why don’t you let someone drive you home since the sun is coming up.”
Olivia and I stood up too. I watched Elena as she stretched her arms above her head and the robe slide up her thighs just a little more. My mouth went dry as I imagined myself between those plump little thighs.
Olivia turned and looked at me, “Someone is thinking dirty thoughts!” She whispered to me.
"So are you, my love!" I whispered back.
"Well, I will be right back Elena. I'll go grab some of my clothes for you to wear home." Olivia said exiting the room.
She left me and Elena standing there alone. I looked at her and flashed my most dazzling smile. "I'm going to go find someone to take you home before I never let you leave again."
