Lacy’s POV
Buzz buzz, buzz buzz.
I notice my phone vibrating on my kitchen table. The screen is lit up, showing an incoming call from Lena.
“Hello!”
“Hey Lacy! You didn’t message me back last night. I got a little worried, ” Lena tells me.
“Yeah, sorry. I was exhausted when I got home, then I had to work early this morning.” I reply sheepishly. “Just got off work not too long ago...”
“I’ll let it slide this once,” she teases. “How was your hike yesterday?”
“I’ve been dying talk to you about it actually,” I hesitate. “It was... good? Like really good honestly. We had a lot of fun. And... we... uh...kissed.” I can feel my cheeks warm up as Cecelia lets out a content hum in my head.
“Oooh!” Lena squeals. “That’s great, Lacy!”
