CHAPTER 48: THE HOSPITAL AND DOUBLE-SIDED MIRRORS

SEBASTIAN I charge out of the Packhouse and shift without getting undressed. I could care less about the designer suit right now that was just torn to shreds.  Knox? Has Lola answered you?  No, Raquel’s wolf is silent.  He whines.  Walking in the hospital lobby naked, I look for the stash of clothes usually left behind the front desk. I find some basketball shorts, but all the t-shirts are too small. Shirtless and shoeless it is.  Dr. Penner’s old receptionist, who now works for Dr. Alvarez, leads me to Raquel’s room. Even during a crisis, she still tries to flirt. Her audacity is getting on my last nerve.  It’s as though time has rewound itself and Raquel never woke up from the coma. I’m angry at her for so much, but I don’t like seeing her hooked up to machines and unconscious.  D
